Compressing C:\ drive

My system - NVME SSD, i7-8750H CPU and 16 GB RAM. Would there be a "noticeable" performance hit if I compress my C: drive using the "compress this drive to save space" option? The C: drive contains Windows system files, image and video files, games, etc. I have already compressed my D: and E: drives but maybe the C: drive is an exception since it contains the Windows system files.
