Meet Seth: Letting everyone print in 3D
Yes, 3D design and printing is possible with Windows! And when you use 3D Builder and other 3D printing tools, you're using the work of program manager Seth Orr and his team.
3D Builder - Has Development Ceased?
I am a big fan of 3D Builder although not for 3D printing but because it can export in file formats compatible with game engines like Unity. I like its non-technical approach and think it is a great option for indie developers to make 3D models for their games. There are a few features I really wish Microsoft would add. 1. More built in primitive shapes. 2. A symmetry option for the Split tool, so you can have a mirrored split effect. 3. Option to export to fbx. Right now you export to the 3mf file format and then open in Paint 3D to convert to fbx. Would like to skip the Paint 3D step. 4. Export scaling options. Objects are either way too big or way too small when exporting to Unity. Give us some control. 5. A real time etching tool. Since 3D Builder already takes a carving approach to modeling (split tool and subtract tool), I think an etching tool would complement that approach. Also, promote this app to game developers. I found it quite by accident.
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder & Audio Device Trouble
Does anyone else have huge RAM memory and CPU "Very High" activity in Win 10 now? I am talking about the above process (Audio Device is under heading "Net Service").......which you can see using Task Manager. So just using my computer normally, while running this Microsoft Community , or when running a game such as Java Minecraft........I am seeing anywhere from 200 megabytes to 3 gigabytes of RAM usage and CPU usage of 20% to 60% of CPU usage. Right NOW as I am typing Task Manager says I am using 900 mb memory in Endpoint Builder and 806 mb in Audio Device (48% Memory)- 54% CPU usage in Endpoint Builder and Audio Device. This seems unbelievably over the top usage on my 16 gig Ram, AMD-FX6300 cpu machine. I AM NOT LISTENING TO AUDIO.....I AM NOT TALKING IN MS TEAM, I am only typing this post in Microsoft Community.. Whilst playing Jave Minecraft I have had the game crash- checking Audio Endpoint and Audio Device I see them running 90% of Memory and 88% of Audio Device.... What other tasks is the Audio Device doing? Is it running some other type of operation that is unstated? Thanks for any comments....if you check the web you will find many other people talking about the same subject!

3D Builder provides everything you need to make 3D content printable. Clean up objects by smoothing and simplifying. Automatically repair objects so you can print them. Use the 3D Scan app to scan yourself in full color.
3D objects can be loaded using 3 different methods. One can either pick a model from the 3D Builder Library, load them from an external file or create a new one from a Kinect v2 Sensor scan. Loading an object from a file can be done by pressing the Load image icon. 3D Builder currently supports the following file formats:
3D Builder resources The 3D Builder app has model visualization options and editing capabilities, and can print to a 3D printer that has a Windows-compatible printer driver. The app can be used as a reference and a test tool for 3D-editing, and for validating 3MF files that you create.
3D Builder lets you create and print your own 3D models. Once you've installed 3D Builder, choose an item from the library, or search Bing for downloadable models to start playing with them. 3D Builder can print models in 3MF, STL, OBJ, PLY, and VRML file types and it can save models in 3MF, PLY and STL file types.
