adding the user account/profile troubleshooter
Microsoft came out with many useful troubleshooters, like the update troubleshooter, network troubleshooter, etc. but one important troubleshooter is lacking. That is the user account/profile troubleshooter. I have gotten corrupted user accounts before in the past (mostly has something to do with temporary internet files not being able to delete) but had to create a new one. I have posted this in the feedback hub before. https://aka.ms/AA62lx7 Will there ever be one? Hopefully someone can let the engineering team know about it.
Here's an idea to improve MS Calendar and Reminders
Sharing this idea and hope that others agree it would be helpful. How many times have you said to yourself or a family member or colleague, "On the next warm day, I want to..." Or, "on the next cool day I need to, or, the next time it rains, I need to..." In other words, "To Do" list items are not only date/time relevant, they also have other attributes or triggers such as weather (as one example), or location attributes such as "the next time I'm in Boston I want to...". The could apply to business as well as personal items. This feature would bring the next level of intelligence and personalization to calendar and reminder apps. It's only a question of time as to which vendor introduces it first - and will make users become lovers of their technology/platform. Here is the link to Feedback Hub for for upvoting: https://aka.ms/AAaoz3w Thank you! (And once you implement it, please consider hiring me as well... :-)
Listening is central to improving Microsoft customer experience
Customer experiences are a critical part of Microsoft product development. CLIP Program Lead Per Farny explains how Windows is dedicated to improving based on your feedback.
Allow users to see Cpu/Disk/Net activity during Windo Update
When the windows update experience locks you out of using your mouse pointer and taskmanager you no longer have sufficient data to know if an installation has hung on old/unreliable hardware and as such users may cut power to the system in these cases, by providing cpu usage/disk activity/network activity/battery remaining you provide users with a way to see if anything is happening and improve the windows update experience by allowing users to inspect their hardware and make more informed choices before taking any drastic measures such as cutting power to the system. the one thing I hate most about the windows update experience is not being able to see whats going on activity wise on my system. During normal usage I have a hard disk indicatior software that informs me if anything is thrashing the drive and I terminate anything that uses to much of my disk time, this improves performace and life of my ssd. Top middle of my screenshot is my hard disk led called Floatled On the feedback hub under the 'name' -> "Allow users to see the log/task manager/simple cpu/disk/network activity during 'advanced' windows update installations"
The Search in taskbar of computer suddenly becomes unusable.
[Emergencies] The Search feature in the taskbar at the bottom of my computer suddenly becomes unusable. Hi, I'm a Microsoft Independent Community Advisor, responsible for technical support for Windows in Microsoft Community in China. Today, we received reports from dozens of users about the "search function in the taskbar is not working properly" issue. Users reported that it would not pop up any search results when they entered anything in the search box. We don't know if this issue only occurs in China, but we have submitted feedback through the FeedBack Hub app. I sincerely wish Microsoft this issue as soon as possible and thank you all the Microsoft engineers for their efforts! Best wishes！ Ling Gao - Microsoft Windows Insider, Microsoft Independent Community Advisor.
Microsoft Store stops working
Hello, to report Problems you need to use Feedback Hub. But it is not installed and after the new udapte of the Insider Build I can not get access to the store. So it is not possible to report failure in windows. The Microsoft Store stops working with Connection Issue: Code: 0x80131500 CV: /qpa7XKmCUqciVZk Can somebody help? Kind regards, Ben
Use Bittorrent to deploy 'local' system images from a server
Also rate limiting is quite important, and deployment time also, I had the client machines wait at the build screen for an hour or two so other clients could take advantage of the new source for the system image. I could have also picked my time better as network logins were starting to take quite some time. Using DHT as identification of other clients behind a proxy or firewall will limit the ability to find other peers. From memory I used command line software called "aria2" Can deal with quite poor network conditions. No I did not do anything wrong, we were licenced at the public school where I worked testing this. Cant get link from feedback hub but its under the 'name' -> "Use Bittorrent to deploy system images from a server as its faster, more reliable when the network isn't. You will deploy FASTER I promise you!"
When will there be more people and focus on windows 10?
I heard in a article there is going to be some reinvestment into windows 10, but then we have Azure, and other things. For example we have, Windows 10x, Windows 10 on Arm, Windows 10. Like, before we got singificant changes and additions such as timeline. But now it's slowed to a significant amount, and now it's affecting how polished the rest of the things are. The worst porition I would argue has to be the lack of polish in the UWP apps, such as the Photo's app and the quality limitation of suggestions on the Feedback hub. Soo, what exactly are they reinvesting in anyway this time? Why can't we save a session on windows 10 for later, why can't we select multiple options on timeline. ETC
have the MS community & Windows community as an app
It will be wonderful if Microsoft can have the Microsoft community as well as the Windows community as an app, so that users do not have to go online to access it but can access it through the app. The app should include all the features that the online version has. Here is the link to the feedback in the feedback hub. https://aka.ms/AA9ytuf . Please help me upvote it.
Narrator is running silent on me ☹
Narrator is one of the best apps for me. Being visually impaired I use frequently to read incoming emails, documents etc. Following the download of kb4558244, (01/05/2020) the narrator will not read text. I am 'rudderless' without this feature. 😟 I have reported the 'bug' via the Feedback hub and I can only hope that normal service will be resumed as quickly as possible. Anyone else having this problem or any problem following kb4558244? 🤔 Update as of 16:35 hours (UK) time Windows Insider Team has responded to my query 'at pace' 🤩 - I thank them for their attention to the problem. 👋🙏 Narrator has been restored as my screen reader. 😀
