Stop releasing updates that don't do anything meaningful.
No one cares about new personalization features or what colour theme you're using so stop releasing updates that have no purpose. Or at least stop making them "mandatory" or combining mandatory updates with them. If I cared about how my desktop looked, I'd buy a Mac. I own a PC because wasting system resources on cosmetic BS is stupid to me... looks like I may not be using the right operating system even still. I need the security updates for your swiss cheese operating system but I don't want to have to sit and stare at a swirling circle icon while my computer picks which colour to theme my PC to today. Talk about being out of touch with your client base.

There are always tricks and hacks to bypass some unwanted updates and their side effects, and the previous update made the sound volume go up to 80% ,this time as well 80%. Some of you experience it too, and for those like me using headphones it's no joke, especially that the level i listen to music etc. is seldom beyond 6%. (Feedback has been sent by me many weeks ago.) The 2004 version finally prevents me from using the old search, where the results get updated as i type in the file explorer search box, and ever since i was ok with the search being slow or not showing all results, it was ok as long i did not have to take additional steps in order to get to any results. As of today i am literally forced to perform one more action in order to obtain the search results, which as most of you know, is by either clicking on the arrow in the file explorer search box, or hitting the enter key on keyboard. I may mention the tool i found today that is not the best, but is not missing any file out of the search results, is fast & allows a lot customization. The name of that search tool is 'Everything.exe' and can be integrated in the shell menu as well as in the file explorer drop down menu or mouse right click. This thing can literally search for any file and despite being set to use index created by windows search, it shows all files. After clicking on 'rebuild' which creates index from scratch the 'Everything.exe' did still show all files....so a 3rd party executable is capable of something widnows after all these years is not. This is just sad. The previous update asked me about location preferences and so on. Why do i have to select same check boxes each time? Now the last thing would be Cortana, which i disabled, but after the update not only the cortana symbol appeared on the taskbar, but cortana got enabled. Apparently Windows is about productivity, yet updates will not be complete unless i confirm some settings, and the search takes more time. Productivity?

Regarding the Freezing problem of my PC after Octobor update
I dont know whats happening with my PC and the freezing problem which occurred to me after the October Update is really driving me crazy.I am always have to wait after opening my PC for at least 20 minutes for things to get back to normal and its really effecting my work.I dont know whether any of the other guys are facing this issue or only me.Solve it asap
Windows May 2020 download fails to install
I was installing the May 2020 up-date. The installation process was interupted, now it just keeps recycling to 64% and will not complete. How can I get past this glitch?

Hi, When i started using Windows computers i used to get frusted with even smaller issues like (hiding toolbar) and (rotating windows screen) that could easily be fixed by just few clicks π€£ππ€£π Have you also came across any issues that frusted you...? please Share your experience. Was Windows Vista really a bad operating system?
After a 6 year drought from Microsoft, in 2007, Microsoft launched its new operating system: Vista. Right off the bat its system requirements were higher simply because of the great features that it had up its sleeve. Most people regarded many of the new features as unnecessary and termed it as bloatware, which I would consider unreasonable. Undoubtedly, Vista had its fair share of bugs and issues, but nothing is perfect, right? Mainly the reason that I think that Vista had all these bugs and issues was probably due to the fact that Microsoft was probably pressed for time, as they reset development of what was supposed to be Vista, also known to some as Windows Codename Longhorn. This time pressure may have resulted in Microsoft attempting to hurry the launch as I believe that XP was starting to get a little outdated. Furthermore, I believe that consumers also let their hopes a little too high, understandibly, since Microsoft had not launched a new version in 6 years, evoking thoughts that Microsoft was working on something really big. Honestly speaking, we should not really vent at the bad things about Vista, because if you look at modern operating systems, features that set them apart from legacy operating systems, whether you talk about looks, design, functionality, or redundancy were mainly pioneered in Windows Vista. Even competing operating systems can be found with features that first appeared in Vista. This just goes to say that if Vista did not exist, or if such an OS was not made, then modern tools that are ubiquitous and taken for granted would have not existed. So in conclusion, Vista had its bugs and issues, and was not well recieved, and it makes sense, but Vista is the sturdy foundation of modern OSes, and it is that huge leap of faith which paid off in its twin successor, aka everyone's favorite version of Windows, the beloved Windows 7, which is just Vista 2.0 with more consistency if you ask me. Why does Windows slow down overtime?
A year back when I got my pc it was all snappy and stuff now when I try to open my notifications panel, file explorer or even right clicking to correct a word that was spell checked everything takes a solid second or two. A lot of people complain about this and windows updates, so what's the deal Microsoft? What are your people opinions on this issue? Does your PC also slow down overtime? Do you even notice this or do you just roll with it? Do you think Microsoft will ever fix this issue?
Latest update "broke" my Surface Pro 3
After installing the latest update my Surface Pro 3 went haywire. Windows for any/all apps were resizing and or closing themselves spontaneously. The caret/cursor was flying all over the place. Apps that had settings e.g. a metronome app, would reset all on its own. Thankfully, I was able to revert back to the previous build. So, WTF?
Anyone not using Windows Defender?
I've been using Windows Defender as my primary antivirus for quite a while now since it's built in and free, but I know there's a ton of other options out there. For those folks that aren't using defender as their antivirus, is there any reason? I feel like I've got all my bases covered, but I just don't know. -nik SVA @ MS store
