A PIN is a set of numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers, that you choose yourself. Using a PIN is a quick, secure way to sign in to your Windows 10 device. Your PIN is securely stored on your device. To reset a PIN when you're already signed in: Make sure you're connected to the internet.

On the surface, a PIN looks much like a password. A PIN can be a set of numbers, but enterprise policy might allow complex PINs that include special characters and letters, both upper-case and lower-case. Something like t758A! could be an account password or a complex Hello PIN.

Under PIN, click I forgot my PIN and follow the instructions. Reset PIN above the Lock Screen. On Windows 10, version 1709, click I forgot my PIN from the Windows Sign-in; Enter your password and press enter. Follow the instructions provided by the provisioning process; When finished, unlock your desktop using your newly created PIN.

To pin apps to the taskbar. Press and hold (or right-click) an app, and then select More > Pin to taskbar.. If the app is already open on the desktop, press and hold (or right click) the app's taskbar button, and then select Pin to taskbar.
