Where's the Classic Start Menu?
Remember the classic Start Menu on Windows 95 and up to Windows Vista? On Windows 7 and later, the classic Start Menu is no longer available. Only the new Start Menu can be used to run programs, find documents and settings, pin programs, and use system tools. The classic Start Menu had menus: Programs Favourites (only available on Windows 98 and up to Windows Vista) Documents Settings Help Run Suspend (only available on Windows 95-based computers with power management support) Log off... (only available on Windows 98 and up to Windows Vista) Shut Down Both Windows XP and Windows Vista allowed you to use the classic Start Menu instead of the new Start Menu.
Making the Start Menu Full Screen
To make your Start Menu full-screen: 1. Right-click the Taskbar, click "Taskbar properties," and then click "Start." 2. Click to toggle "Use Start full screen" from "Off" to "On." If you click the Start button or press WINDOWS LOGO on your keyboard, the Start Menu will be in full screen like Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 had. If you're in Tablet Mode, the Start Menu will always be in full screen, and if you're not in Tablet Mode, the Start Menu won't be in full screen. To stop the Start Menu from using full-screen: 1. Right-click the Taskbar, click "Taskbar properties," and then click "Start." 2. Click to toggle "Use Start full screen" from "On" to "Off."
