Why are hotel networks not secure?
I'm worried about hackers. Right now, I'm in a hotel in Charleston, WV.
Italy made Apple bleed
As it turns out, Apple been advertising their phones as waterproof...which was the case but only under specific conditions ๐คฆโโ๏ธ makes you wonder if the Water/dust resistant rating is actually worth anything, but so far only Apple has been sued. After all, there has been a lot of problems with Apple products in the last 10years, such as bending phones, keyboards that fall a part , corrosion in all their devices....and so on.
How old is too old?
I am a substitute teacher who is preparing for the new school year. Because of the COVID -19 virus, a good number of the classes I will work with will be virtual, using assorted teleconferencing programs. I currently have a 6 year old Acer Aspire E11 laptop. Question for the community, how old does a computer have to be to be too old to use for more current applications like teleconferencing, etc.? Are there clear symptoms that my computer is too old for productive use, aside from being a little slow at startup? I Look forward to the responses. Thanks.

Hi all! Which Microsoft Apps have you been using more now than you did before? ๐ค Personally, I have been using Microsoft To-Do to stay on top of my tasks. BTW I work at MSFT and I'm curious to know which apps have been getting you through your day-to-day ๐
Seniors and Comprehension of Tech and Mobile Devices
My close friends and family are over 60 and they all have a problem with change. If anything requires an update forget about it. Repeating myself has no effect. Many times over I refer them to manuals, guides and youtube videos. Every aspect of any gadget with a screen is just difficult. I need advice. Is wanting to know how to learn how things are done and make things i create work for me, that challenging to a senior? Clicking download eighteen times and still can not find it would make myself mad enough to learn how avoid such problems. How can they learn the absolute basics of everything? Formatting, hierarchy skills, terms, commands, actions and etc.? If they were a horse and i led this horse to water,,, Do i have to accept the fact of these issues or try harder like ,,,,what? My next attempt is this windows community program. I reviewed the videos and they cover a vast number of things. sometimes i wish there was a "show follow the numbers step by step" option.
External hard drive or the cloud?
I have two external hard drives and 95% of the time use my PC and my other devices have specific purposes. I don't bother to back them up. What about you? ๐คจ
Legacy Programs
What is/are the legacy program(s), NOT apps! that you are still running, and why? I still use a totally outdated Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011, mainly because I like to plan routes, and it is/was the easiest software to use, and how it save 1 dirt poor school district tons of money!. Man I wish they'd bring that back!
Your Phone
On one hand I really like this app, BUT! on the other hand I hate it. There are three reasons for this: 1: I cannot delete either messages or photos directly from the app. Why Not? 2: I deleted a couple of message 2 days ago, and they are still showing up in the My Phone app WHY? 3: The conversation list on the You Phone app does not match what is on my Phone Why Not? Has anyone been having fun with Edge?
I have been using Microsoft products since DOS 1.0... Yep I'm so old that I can remember when we had to rub rocks together to get dirt to plant peanuts. Edge is unique that it has harvested all my favorites, since day one, and given me the dark side of Backup/restore. I tried my friends, and I have no enemies to ask, they all died of old age. And now Internet Explorer is being hauled off to the boneyard. Work, of course, doesn't use anything but IE... Soooo, me being the old geek and all that, they off load their problems to me. Does anybody out there in the land of people have had favorites listing so long that they could be used to fish with?
