When the Windows 10 October 2020 Update is ready for your device, it will be available to download from the Windows Update page in Settings. Choose a time that works best for you to download the update. You'll then need to restart your device and complete the installation. After that, your device will be running Windows 10, version 20H2.

Summary. Windows 10, versions 2004 and 20H2 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. Therefore, the new features in Windows 10, version 20H2 are included in the latest monthly quality update for Windows 10, version 2004 (released October 13, 2020), but are in an inactive and dormant state.

Windows 10 2016 LTSB will continue to have only cumulative monthly security updates (known as the “B” or “Update Tuesday” release) until 10/13/2026. Non-security releases (known as “C” releases) for this operating system ended in July 2020.
