History of Windows Since 1985
I am writing this message as a suggestion to devote a website to the various versions of Windows along with a description of major additions and improvements of one build over its predecessor from the original Windows (release date 11.20.85) up to and including Windows 10 (release date 07.29.15). A lot of changes have happened since Windows first appeared in 1985 and from time to time I will think about the evolution of and the countless changes to the program that single handedly revolutionized personal computing as we know it today. Just the change in size of programming code from way back then to now is mind boggling! I remember getting a new computer with a 60 MB (Yep, MB) hard drive and how I was envied by co-workers. We thought a 60 MB storage drive would be more than enough to meet any future needs. Nowadays, some office documents and many stand alone apps are that size and greater. Microsoft has every reason to brag on its accomplishments and contributions to the tech industry in just over 30 years. Displaying these events would not only be of historical importance but perhaps an educational tool as well. A virtual tour and perhaps enabling online access to functional prior operating systems would be interesting to young and old (Yes, I'm on the "old" side). Anyway, you folks are more than talented to come up with the best way to exhibit this idea to share with the world. Maybe its been discussed before but if not I just wanted to encourage a thought process to consider its viability. It could also be an excellent tool to market Microsoft into future generations. In any event, congratulations to Microsoft and its employees for past accomplishments and best wishes for continued success! Thank you for your consideration in this matter, your time and talent! God bless all of you and yours, and bye for now, Paul

Latest update "broke" my Surface Pro 3
After installing the latest update my Surface Pro 3 went haywire. Windows for any/all apps were resizing and or closing themselves spontaneously. The caret/cursor was flying all over the place. Apps that had settings e.g. a metronome app, would reset all on its own. Thankfully, I was able to revert back to the previous build. So, WTF?

How to remove all threats on Windows.
In order to remove them use the "windows security full scanner" to find the threats you have on your divice. After you cannot see the scan button any more you will see a botton that say "start action". Above the botton you will see the threat on your divice. Then, click on all the threats on your divice. Make sure the black dot in the circle is next to the word remove. After, you are done, double check it or triple check. Then, click the botton "start action". Remember never chick "allow on divice".

unusual problems with Windows 2004
Hey all, I had a couple of unusual problems when I updated my 2017 Surface Pro i5 to Windows 2004. I have three external WD passport drives (2.5 inch) connected via a USB hub on the surface dock, and after the update the drives would produce a loud clicking sound about every ten to fifteen minutes. I think it has to do with a power saving mode but changing those settings or turning them off with WD utilities did nothing to prevent the issue. They also seemed to never actually go to sleep with the lights blinking 3 times every 10 seconds or so. I have formatted the drives in exFAT. When I went back to Windows 1909, the problem stopped. Could this be something to do with the new windows search or indexing features? Also, and its small, but the onscreen keyboard got smaller when used in full QWERTY mode. It now has a border around the left and right edge of my screen and shrunk the keyboard to fit. It's not a big deal when using the surface in landscape mode, but it definitely is more difficult to use when in portrait mode. Thanks.

Cortana
Prior to 2004, I used a Windows-based computer. I was unhappy with Windows because of constant "blue screens of death", hackers planting viruses, etc...When I became a truck driver in 2004, I mainly used a mobile phone and started using Google products. I like their products and they all work seamlessly with each other. Now, I am a full-time Care-Provider for my mother and just purchased a new computer with Windows 10 Pro installed. I decided to give Microsoft apps a try once again because I do like their products. On my PC there are no problems, but on my Android phone, I just can't seem to get Cortana to work hands-free, and with certain apps. I do understand that there is a war between Microsoft, Apple, Google and any other companies that are out there, but, the customer (that would be you and I) should be able to use whatever Assistant we choose to work with any apps that we like and use. Case in point: the Google Assistant comes on automatically when I say "OK Google" (hands-free), and I can set a timer, ask about the weather, play my favorite music in the Google Play app, etc....no problem....Today I downloaded Cortana to work with all my apps and I cannot even get it to turn on without tapping the microphone button. I made it my default app, turned on all the permissions, etc...and I am discouraged with Microsoft again. I haven't given up yet, but I had to switch back to the Google Assistant just so I can do the things I need to do hands-free, which comes with a cost of not being able to use some of the Microsoft apps unless done manually. I like Microsoft's To-Do List, but Google Assistant will only open Google's Task app. It just defeats the whole purpose of downloading all of Microsoft's apps if I can't use everything seamlessly. I use Amazon Music now, and neither Assistant will open it. I would really like to use whatever Assistant I choose with the default apps that I select. Now, am I doing something wrong or does this sound about right?

Does Microsoft ©®™ plan to support Windows 12 and 14 ? ? ?
If so I will probably be holding off any decision to buy until Windows 16 is released . . .
