Unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware, 0xc1900201
When I try to install the W10 version 2004 feature update I get the following error: Windows cannot be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware. 0xc1900201 I have a 2018 Dell XPS 15 9570 laptop.32GB, 1.0TB SSD, most current BIOS update from Dell that shows UEFI as the BIOS mode. Microsoft is telling me I have to do a full scratch install of the current shipping version of W10 and then install the 2004 feature update, thus, I have to do a full backup and restore, then reinstall all of the apps. Is this actually necessary? I'm hoping there's another way to do this. I've worked for software companies in the past and often times Tech Support resorts to a full remiage of the cmputer in order to fix a problem. Are they just lazy or for real? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Home Network Issues
My home network, Wi-Fi based, lacks stability in that it often fails to present in File Explorer networked PCs I intend to access. When this happens, I have to leave the computer I am using to go to the target PC to perform what's needed. It's really a problem of inconsistency ("now you see me, now you don't"). Each PC is setup on the network by simply entering the password for AT&T gateway/modem, without creating any kind of homegroup or workgroup, etc., etc. Where am I going wrong? Is there a tried and true home network setup method that I can use to avoid this annoyance? Any help this community can provide would be greatly appreciated. By way of background, let me say this: System: Windows 10 Home, 64-bit Connectivity: Wi-Fi Number of Pcs: 6 Thanks. ca le
Noticed a category
I see there is a category, Security & Privacy. And it says, "Get tips..." I have a tip or 2 for this: It's high complex... (J/K 😂) 1. Use Windows 10. LOL That's it. Well, except don't add any 3rd Party stuff to it, the OBE is fine. And that takes care of the 1st part... except for whatever the End User does OR doesn't do. 2. Use Edge 2.a In Edge, block 3rd Party cookies & set Tracking prevention to Strict. Ad blocking & Pop-up blocking are on by default 3. Don't visit porn sites. 4. Don't click on anything unfamiliar in Emails or anything in Emails from unfamiliar or unknown sources. 5. Spend no time on a phone with incoming callers saying they are from MS. 6. Store critical data in the cloud; OneDrive or something similar. 7. 10 fights ransomware. As for privacy... don't give out personal info, create & use bold/strong P/Ws, change them often and use Family Controls. The idea that one's privacy is at risk with Win10 is 100% false & a myth. And YT vids & other sources saying turn stuff off in Win10 or say "No" to stuff is completely wrong & based on a severe lack of accurate understanding... Attention is paid to computer use to improve Windows 10 for everyone, globally... NO personal data is of interest OR collected. There are so many protections & safeguards between Edge & Win10, just be glad, relax & enjoy Cheers, Drew
Finally got a surface go 2!
I finally got a surface go 2! I am very satisfied with the tablet. It runs Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 like a dream! It is a lot better than my 2015 Macbook and my 2018 iPad. I also got the surface pen, which is great for drawing in Microsoft Paint.
Update ver. 2004 Let's hear about your problems.
There are always tricks and hacks to bypass some unwanted updates and their side effects, and the previous update made the sound volume go up to 80% ,this time as well 80%. Some of you experience it too, and for those like me using headphones it's no joke, especially that the level i listen to music etc. is seldom beyond 6%. (Feedback has been sent by me many weeks ago.) The 2004 version finally prevents me from using the old search, where the results get updated as i type in the file explorer search box, and ever since i was ok with the search being slow or not showing all results, it was ok as long i did not have to take additional steps in order to get to any results. As of today i am literally forced to perform one more action in order to obtain the search results, which as most of you know, is by either clicking on the arrow in the file explorer search box, or hitting the enter key on keyboard. I may mention the tool i found today that is not the best, but is not missing any file out of the search results, is fast & allows a lot customization. The name of that search tool is 'Everything.exe' and can be integrated in the shell menu as well as in the file explorer drop down menu or mouse right click. This thing can literally search for any file and despite being set to use index created by windows search, it shows all files. After clicking on 'rebuild' which creates index from scratch the 'Everything.exe' did still show all files....so a 3rd party executable is capable of something widnows after all these years is not. This is just sad. The previous update asked me about location preferences and so on. Why do i have to select same check boxes each time? Now the last thing would be Cortana, which i disabled, but after the update not only the cortana symbol appeared on the taskbar, but cortana got enabled. Apparently Windows is about productivity, yet updates will not be complete unless i confirm some settings, and the search takes more time. Productivity?
PC won't play videos
My pc now will not play any MP4 files. I cannot figure out why. I tried several files, all end up with an error message: "Can't play. Choose something else to play. This item is in a format we don't support." The error number is 0xc1010103. Please advise. Thank you.

SS (Suggestion)1: Add ability to link profiles Priority in my opinion: 9 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) Hello, I want the ability to link profiles, as my main account is locked. Then it doesn't matter which account I'm on, I can combine how much badges I have.

How to speed up my start up? Second, MS Word app is misbehaving the following ways: a) Normal Font, I mean AaBbCc is disappeared (in Style panel) and my text typing is happening in capitals all through:( b) Windows Edge browser frequently becoming dormant with a message " Edge is not responding" Could someone help me to fix these basic errors please? -Ram
