DVD drive and Windows updates
Two updates ago (Windows 10) DVD drives worked fine to burn DVD. When update completed Nero kept reading DVD drives as empty. Many hours of effort could not get it to work. Bought Cheap USB DVD burner and could burn DVD on that drive only. Update last night and now I have lost that drive. Have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers still no help. Any direction toward a solution would be greatly appreciated
Make Windows Experience Better(its suggestion for windows)
Windows community ideas and concepts are the best. Today life can be called "technology life". And this window community shares their ideas and concepts to improve the technology life . In today's time, most security, smoothness and animation make us the user experience and next level. Windows 10 has a lot of animation, but for today it requires more animation, smoothness, software optimization. I want to request Microsoft and the window community. You have given Microsoft Edge the very best customizable browser, its experience is at the next level. In this way, you provide your own application (photo editing and video editing etc.) software for Windows machine. Produce many more daily use software. So that we get all the in-built applications for the user.
I want to let you know what happened because it’s the first time in all my 30+ years IT life. I used to have two volumes/partitions, C: for Windows OS and E: for my data. Thursday evening I started Windows Update (only for last November 2019 cumulative update, I update very often) and shut down when finished. On Friday morning when I booted up the system I saw the Windows nice landscape photo but when I tried to login the password box was not shown, no way to login. I tried ALL possible paths (safe mode, cmd, etc.). You know what I found? Using diskpart from cmd I found a single volume/partition that was the merge of my C: and my E: data !!! dir command was showing all my C and E directories and files together in one single volume/partintion! Windows was corrupted somehow, no gpt fix, efi rebuild was successful. My SD with my Windows 10 File History was not accessible (and useless since the OS itself was corrupted). All my data were there, there was no encryption so, without any login, I saved all my data on a usb hdd with robocopy (this is very bad on a security perspective, It’s enough to have a usb stick and some time with a pc available, e.g. lunch break, and you can stole the whole data from it, easy, no password, no hack. Either Bitlocker or, even better, a 3rd parties encryption after UEFI layer is recommended. But this time I was happy I did't have bitlocker). The only solution to bring back to work the laptop was to boot from the Recovery Drive (lucky I did and had) and then restore a full image (lucky I did and had) with the old Windows 7 Backup Tool and finally robocopy back all my data (then upgrade again but not to the latest cumulative, better to wait a bit, a fix might come, then backup again). One additional note, since during the restore process I chose not to format all partitions from scratch, now I have one single partition C: with both OS and Data, I’m leaving Windows decision be the final one on how my volumes have to be on my laptop 😊

How to never get another windows update again!
I have found out how to never update my device again! The last update I ever did was original windows 10 to windows 1903. The way is to pause updates. Then when you get close to the end, press resume updates and quickly press the pause update button five times. Have been using it for 6 months!
Win. 10 disk cleanup: How to delete temporary files
hi all: I wonder why is it that when it gets to like the 7th or 8th day, especially day 7, going to Storage and Temporary Files, I noticed the temporary files is there. It doesn't happen from day 1 to day 6. I have to clean it up. But it still appears in disk cleanup. I actually delete temporary files from manually before going to Storage. I thought it could be a bug in Windows 10. Wondering under temporary files, why it will not state 0 bytes in disk cleanup. For mine, it will state 2.07 MB. For some of you, it might state GB. I searched online and found a way for the temporary files to state 0 bytes in disk cleanup. Here are the steps: reminder, the following steps involve registry and do not modify other things, as it might cause serious issues with your device. 1. Please type reg under search and it will show Registry editor. Please click on run as administrator. 2. Then, go to, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Temporary Files 3. In the right-pane, double-click LastAccess. 4. Set the value data for LastAccess to 10. That is what I did for mine. After you are finished and go back to Storage and Temporary Files or the disk cleanup, you will notice under temporary files, it will state 0 bytes. A reminder: Even though it might state like 2.07 MB under temporary files, but when you actually delete the files manually, it will have no affect at all. You don't lose disk space because of it. Hope this helps.
