Will they shut down the activation servers of office 2010
hey guys I still use Microsoft Office 2010 to make documents and for school because google drive is very buggy for me (and I think office is much better good job Microsoft) I might need to activate it on my new PC which may come after support ends in two weeks. Will they close down the servers to activate it? I think probably not because I still have product key for 2003 and it worked fine last week but just making sure. I would also like to know why stuff from the 1990s won't work on my x64 bit Windows 10 PC. I still use Vista or 7 for those but know if I get a virus bye bye Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000.

Nasty Trojan/Virus
Whenever I open the Microsoft Edge browser, which has the MSN homepage set - and before I've even clicked on anything else - a nasty trojan/virus (Perfstringbackup.tmp) installs, then my firewall is disabled, and then a fake Windows update downloads more malware onto my PC. How is this all possible?

URGENT ALERT RE HACKERS, VIRUSES, AND DANGEROUS THREATs
Today I received an urgent, very loud, alert from what appeared to be Microsoft, telling me the computer was in serious danger from hackers trying to gain access to my personal information. I was instructed not to turn my computer off or leave the page and was afraid to exit. I was also instructed to call the phone number provided immediately. I was not aware of any MS security threat scams and was quite worried. The technician I spoke to on the phone assured me he was a licensed MS technician and that since my computer had already been hacked, all my personal information was in jeopardy. This was a first for me and decided it would be best to trust his judgment. He accessed my computer and seemed to think 17 hackers were attempting to take over my computer and said my entire security system was locked, so I would not be able to proceed without removal of the threat and the addition of a network firewall and an IP protection. He took me to a web page for RIGHTPCEXPERTS.COM in Tampa, and gave the impression they are affiliated with Microsoft. Because I am age 69 he offered me a "discounted price" of 299.00 and I was left to believe it was imperative, as all my devices were in danger. I was then referred to a second agent who said he would be able to remedy the problems with my PC. HE REMOVED MY SYSTEM MECHANIC AND THEN installed an AD BLOCKER, CC CLEANER, ANTI-VIRUS HACKING. HE SEEMINGLY CLEANED MY COMPUTER AND THEN INSTALLED A NETWORK FIREWALL, AN IP NETWORK ACCESS PROTECTOR. After I PROVIDED my credit card number for the charge of 299.00 I was told there was an additional fee technical fee of $120, that would be paid in 12 installments of 9.99, for a total of 420.00. I was so reluctant but thought I had no other choice but to proceed. Like another gentleman who was concerned about the legitimacy of this company, I am left wondering if they are a scam. MY INVOICE READ AM PC SECURITY, NOT RIGHTPCEXPERTS OUT OF TAMPA AND NEXWAY HANDLED THE TRANSACTION.

Sharing: My week with v21H1
My week with 21H1I updated v21H1 via Windows 10 Update Assistant from v20H2 on the 19th of May. I couldn't wait to have it. A week after the update using the Event Viewer, I see NO CRITICAL ERRORS but I have 25 ERRORS. And these ERRORS based on my research NOTHING is serious, its a MINOR GLITCHES. My snip & sketch of my event viewer & post it in Microsoft Community Support https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-10-may-2021-update-now-available/a10d4965-96cc-4702-8638-c16b9ed9f50c?page=8 ✔ Kernel-EventTracing is the "PerfDiag Logger" reaching it maximum file size(0xc0000188) it happens twice or thrice a day, but doesn't cause BIG trouble in my system. ✔ Kernel-EventTracing is the "PerfDiag Logger" cannot overwrite (0xc0000035) it happens sometimes, but it doesn't cause BIG trouble in my system. ✔ Application Error a gaming app, crashed but never happened again while playing. ✔ Application Hang it happens after I update the MS Edge to 90.0.818.66, I close/open it many times then it hangs but didn't happen again(semi human error). ✔ DHCP-client it is about IP Address leased. ✔ DistributedCOM did not register with DCOM within the required timeout ✔ BitLockerDriver Encrypted volume check: Volume information on E: cannot be read. (USB improperly dock, human error) 😁 Screenshot: https://filestore.community.support.microsoft.com/api/images/ceb37bf4-64f6-438c-86b0-6cf108553b9a ✨ Windows Update automatically look for an update every day. ✨ Windows Defender run on schedule & scans every day. 😎 Overall assessment/s upon driving the road( v21H1) to Sun Valley is SUCCESSFUL & I am ready to accept & apply the Windows Updates. 👍👍👍 😎 I don't need ANY TWEAKS & TRICKS in the registry. There is no need anymore. 🤔 Came up in my mind, In 1.3++Billion Windows Users around the Globe, Am I one of the few who is special in the eye of Microsoft?(awesome⁉😎, if I am). Are you special? w🤩w How is your experienced with v21H1?

When you update, why do you change all my settings?
Every time I get an update to Windows, I have to reset all my options, you have forced me to use only your products, and that is NOT my choice. I have had to spend hours re-entering all my settings and my passwords (I have over 300 different passwords), and when I do an update, I have to re-enter everyone. It seems you could either get the updates tested before you release them, or at least give us a choice if we want to update (and after spending hours re-setting my settings and passwords, I think you know I would choose not to update!!) I not only have to do this to my comupter, but my husbands also.

Every browser is lagging in my win 10 p c.
Hi.. This is Rajiv. I am having a serious issue here while using any browser in my windows 10 p c. Wheather it's Google Chrome which I used to prefer, Edge or Firefox. Every browser is showing a time delay of almost 30 seconds or even more to show up what I type there on search box or on my blog. Because i don't have any technical knowledge so I tried out on help forums like windows, Google, or internet and done a lot of steps to set up this problem like clearing cache and cookies, resetting to default settings, clearing history, updating chrome, uninstalling chrome, Firefox and reinstalling it. Deep disc cleanup, cleaning up even unnecessary system files, and last formatting window and updating it again. I cleaned up even every single app which I installed from internet and even files also. Now my p c is having only default files and apps which came with windows only. Even then I am having this issue and not able to use my p c for any work at all. I even tried a tech expert for this problem but even then nothing is working till now. Please help me in this issue. It will be a great favour to me. Thanks for your concern. Have a good day ahead

B & C confusions, but its not my name.
-> "B" Update or The Patch Tuesday, happens every 2nd Tuesday of the Month with improvements, security & fixes, new features & it is MANDATORY. -> "C" Update happens every 3rd-4th week of the month with fixes & some improvements & it is OPTIONAL. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-it-pro-blog/windows-10-update-servicing-cadence/ba-p/222376 Many says, the "C" Update or The Optional Update can be skipped(its true) if you have NO ISSUE/s or BUG/s or PROBLEM/s occurs in your PC/Laptop, however it will be included in "B" Update or The Patch Tuesday. Question/s: 1. Why Do I/We need to skip the C Update if I/we found no problem, issue or bug in my/our system until the next update, if this still included in B Update or The Patch Tuesday? 2. If We/I skipped the C Update, does this mean the B Update file size is larger than NOT skipping the C Update? 3. What would the effect if I still Download & Install the C Update even I found no problem, issue, bug?

Configuring User Account Control
You can change User Account Control settings. User Account Control prevents unauthorized changes to your computer unless you accept to do so. This is dependent on program installations or configuration changes. To change User Account Control settings: 1. Click Start, type "user account control" (without the quotation marks), and then click Change User Account Control Settings in a list of results. 2. Drag the slider up or down to what setting you want: - Always notify me when applications try to install software or make changes to my computer and I make changes to Windows settings - Notify me only when applications try to make changes to my computer (default) but don't notify me when I make changes to Windows settings - Notify me only when applications try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop) but don't notify me when I make changes to Windows settings - Never notify me when applications try to install software or make changes to my computer and I make changes to Windows settings 3. Click OK. Notes: - If you set User Account Control to Never Notify, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Using this setting is not recommended. - If you set User Account Control to Always Notify, you will always be notified when applications try to make changes to your computer or make changes to Windows settings. This is the highest security setting. - When a User Account Control dialog box pops up, your desktop will be dimmed until you provide confirmation.

Reputation-based protection
I have an item listed as "Potentially unwanted app found." I would like to confirm that it is not something I need; I'm suspicious given I now cannot logon with employer. How can I see the app in question?
