Windows Updates On Virtual Machine Server 2019
Hi all, We are experiencing an issue when attempting to download and install Windows Updates on a Windows Server 2019 Virtual Machine, any help would be appreciated. From some reading online I believe the log which shows errors related to updates is the CBS.log, I have copied some of the first error lines below, 2021-02-26 17:20:02, Error CSI 00000046@2021/2/26:17:20:02.401 (F) Attempting to mark store corrupt with category [l:26 ml:27]'CorruptComponentsRootItems'[gle=0x80004005] 2021-02-26 17:20:02, Error CSI 00000047@2021/2/26:17:20:02.401 (F) onecore\base\wcp\componentstore\csd_transact.cpp(3870): Store corruption detected in function CCSDirect::CreateTransaction expression: 0 2021-02-26 17:20:02, Error CSI 00000048 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(14098) #8463# from Windows::COM::CComponentStore::InternalTransact(...)[gle=0x80073712] 2021-02-26 17:20:02, Error CSI 00000049 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(14098) #8461# from Windows::ServicingAPI::CCSITransaction::ICSITransaction2_Analyze(Flags = 0, riid = {f4d9decb-0250-4ad4-9500-85c7f2f281ec}, ppUnk = NULL, disp = 0)[gle=0x80073712] These seem to point to Component Store being corrupted in some way. Many were saying on some community pages that a potential solution would be to rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder incase the old downloads were corrupted, new ones would then be downloaded and a new "SoftwareDistribution" folder created, unfortunately this did not work. Another potential solution was to run admin command variations of the below, dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup This command did kick off returning image version etc but did not continue, I ensured to leave this overnight as it was advised it can take hours to complete, again no success. Short of restoring the VM's image from backup which I imagine will be a painful process I am out of ideas, any help or advise would be appreciated. Regards, Stuart

How to send Feedback hub issues properly about photo app
I'm wondering if feedback photos is sent either via text, or via diagnostics. For example, looking at the photo's app, there are four problems with it: 1: CPU usage is extreme, and caps out on startup, (Photos app, Runtime broker, State Repository (30%+CPU usage))and can reach around 40% usage. 2:Sometimes checkboxes appear, when scrolling down on photos. 3:When using the search bar, the first time all options show, album, tags, and etc. However, after searching and adding a photo to a album or whatnot, but after that is done, you have to restart the app, and then albums will reappear. 4:When selecting a file via a option shown it does not properly select the search properly. Aka (Searching for thisiscool.jpg searches as thisiscool jpg which results into nothing being found.) How in the world do I even send these privately, without revealing the photos, do I just send a text box message, and send diganostic logs? under which one pls. BTW 5th issue, can we please remove the unnecessary header acrylic(Transparent) under album view? Also, remove forced video editor integration, if I want it, I'll ask it for a render, if not, please don't make it use my CPU, apple doesn't do it(Force it), why do we have to do it? Acrylic(transparent) uses too much cpu and gpu on desktop window manager :(

Tips of the day: Exploring and maintaining your computer
To see how much disk space is free, hold down ALT and double-click the icon for the drive in the This PC window. You can solve disk space problems by accessing Storage in Settings or Disk Clean-up. To free disk space, try emptying the Recycle Bin. Deleted files and folders are saved in the Recycle Bin until you empty it. You can use File Explorer to see all the file son your computer. You can use Paint (normally launched by clicking Start, scrolling down to Windows Accessories, clicking Windows Accessories, and then clicking Paint) to draw pictures and view bitmap files. When a folder is open, you can press BACKSPACE to open a folder one level higher. Use Preview Pane in File Explorer to preview a document without opening it by clicking a document. When you display files in the Details view, you can sort them by clicking the column headings. To sort the files in reverse order, click the column heading once more. You can right-click anywhere to see a menu of available commands. You can try many useful programs by clicking Start, scrolling down to Windows Accessories, and then clicking Windows Accessories. In File Explorer, you can set options to show or hide three-letter filename extensions. If your computer's network is set to Private, you can access the Network folder in File Explorer to see computers in your workgroup. Use the error-checking tool periodically to check a volume for errors. In This PC, double-click a drive while holding down ALT, and then click Tools. If you have an external hard drive, you can use File History to make copies of important files. Press WINDOWS LOGO + I, click Update & Security, and then click Backup. For security, you can lock your computer whenever you walk away from it by pressing WINDOWS LOGO + L. Was Windows Vista really a bad operating system?
After a 6 year drought from Microsoft, in 2007, Microsoft launched its new operating system: Vista. Right off the bat its system requirements were higher simply because of the great features that it had up its sleeve. Most people regarded many of the new features as unnecessary and termed it as bloatware, which I would consider unreasonable. Undoubtedly, Vista had its fair share of bugs and issues, but nothing is perfect, right? Mainly the reason that I think that Vista had all these bugs and issues was probably due to the fact that Microsoft was probably pressed for time, as they reset development of what was supposed to be Vista, also known to some as Windows Codename Longhorn. This time pressure may have resulted in Microsoft attempting to hurry the launch as I believe that XP was starting to get a little outdated. Furthermore, I believe that consumers also let their hopes a little too high, understandibly, since Microsoft had not launched a new version in 6 years, evoking thoughts that Microsoft was working on something really big. Honestly speaking, we should not really vent at the bad things about Vista, because if you look at modern operating systems, features that set them apart from legacy operating systems, whether you talk about looks, design, functionality, or redundancy were mainly pioneered in Windows Vista. Even competing operating systems can be found with features that first appeared in Vista. This just goes to say that if Vista did not exist, or if such an OS was not made, then modern tools that are ubiquitous and taken for granted would have not existed. So in conclusion, Vista had its bugs and issues, and was not well recieved, and it makes sense, but Vista is the sturdy foundation of modern OSes, and it is that huge leap of faith which paid off in its twin successor, aka everyone's favorite version of Windows, the beloved Windows 7, which is just Vista 2.0 with more consistency if you ask me. Thank you for taking your time to read this essay!

Windows 10 Update Assistant from 20H2 to 21H1
I used Windows 10 Update Assistant to get the NEW v21H1. The Windows 10 Update Assistant will tell/notify/warned you if your system is ready/compatible to take the v21H1, if NOT you don't have to forced it into your system. https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10 š I performed what is necessary for my system or PC/Laptop, then I proceed to Download, Installation & Update. š Everything is finished without a problem/error/bug/notification or unusual performance or activities on the screen. š I performed manual check on my system. In the Event Viewer shows number of errors: 74 AppReadiness, 10 Service Control Manager, 5 Print Service(I unplug my printer) as the updates is on going, based on the time, and NO CRITICAL shown!! š No worries, because as I tested my Apps all is running as it used to be. https://community.windows.com/en-us/conversations/finally,-the-road-to-sun-valley-is-here/6724c550-bb34-4c48-b013-3318bb20142a Just sharing... Windows 10 always secretly busy doing 'something else'..?
After every frequent, time-consuming and tedious W10 update, it can take up to a week for 'normal service' to be resumed. Any browser you care to use performs erratically and sluggishly; it, File Explorer and Windows in general frequently go faint and 'fail to respond'. WHY??? If it's any help, I'm a long-standing IT pro now working from home and using an HP ProOne 440 G4 all-in-1 workstation new last August - and supposedly specifically designed for Windows 10, God help us!

Dark Mode vs Light Mode
So here is a quick survey. What do you think is the best mode for Windows to be in: dark or light? Remember that to such a question, there is no wrong answer. You could say that light mode is the best and be totally correct and another person could say dark mode and also be completely correct. But honestly, if you ask me, I would choose dark mode in a heartbeat, because it is visually appealing and for me at least, Fluent Design looks more fluid in dark mode. In addition, dark mode helps avoid the situation whereby your PC's display is a huge torch, and dark mode is gentle on the eyes. That ⬠was my opinion. Thank you!
