Parental controls and Microsoft Spying
Why does Microsoft make you sign into an account in order to use parental controls in Windows? Why not just have the parent be able to control the computer by NOT allowing changes to the Hosts file (which a 12 year old can easily figure out)? Why isn't there a way to set yourself up as an Admin and PREVENT your kid from changing it by simply resetting the BIOS or some other method? I think it is because Microsoft makes money when the kid is on-line gaming, etc. Thus, there is no real incentive other than to make the parent set up a Microsoft account so that Windows can collect "basic" data and sell it.
