Windows 10 100% Disk Usage
Hi Everyone, I have been having recent problems with many computers that are running 100% disk usage. My computer is not running this, but my brother's computer (lenovo thinkpad X131e) is running 100% all the time. I fully cleaned the drive, and disabled Windows Search and SySmain (aka Superfetch), and alot of other things. It seems to work now, but still is not like a new computer. I jumps to 100% when opening a basic app like Microsoft Edge. The only time when it is low is when idiling with no programs open. (still at 10 - 20%). I also have another computer that is running the same thing (Lenovo iDeapad 310). Does anyone know why this happens? My dad has a Lenovo P910 that is 5 years old, and runnig windows 10 Pro. This does not have the 100% disk usage though. Is it different versions of windows?? The thinkpad and ideapad are both windows 10 home. THank you for your time! Joseph
Win 10 Pro mouse/keyboard issues
I recently purchased an i7 desktop, running Win 10 Pro. I've previously had/have several Win 10 machines, but not one with "Pro". I am having a problem with the mouse and keyboard. After the machine has been running for a while (a half hour or so) the mouse gets "jerky" and sometimes unresponsive to movement, or movement is delayed. Similarly the keyboard will slow down, or drop characters. Rebooting the machine clears the problem, and then it again slowly degrades over time. I have tried a selection of mice and keyboards, wired and wireless without improvement. The machine is quite capable, i7 chip, 16gig RAM, SSD drive, etc., and is not bogged down with background apps. Any ideas?
see which apps are affecting your battery life
I have few things to ask. Under see which apps are affecting your battery life and under Windows Explorer, the percentage goes up even while not using it. It is still going up. How to get it to go down while not in use? The percentage for Edge will go down when not in use. Windows Explorer did go down 1% from 21% to 20% but went back up 1% to 21% (when Windows Explorer is not in use). So, what does that mean and what fixes are there?
In the search box on the taskbar, type Windows Security, and then select it from the results. Select Device performance & health to view the Health report. Note: If your device is part of an organization, your administrator may not have granted you permission to view Device performance & health.
The Device performance & health section contains information about hardware, devices, and drivers related to the machine. IT administrators and IT pros should reference the appropriate documentation library for the issues they are seeing, such as the configure the Load and unload device drivers security policy setting and how to deploy drivers ...
This can help improve PC performance if you reduce the number of files that are synced to your PC. To see which version of Windows 10 your device is currently running, select the Start button, then select Settings > System >About. Open About settings. Performance Issues - Device Performance & Health Scan? I have a PC that is about 3 years old, running Windows 10 Home 64 Bit. Starting sometime in late Oct it started randomly accessing (drives/CPU/?) every so often, causing significant stuttering and making it generally unusable for a few minutes at a time until it is done.
The device needs to be turned on and currently connected to the internet to check the real time device performance and health. I hope this clears up your concern. 1 person found this reply helpful
