Can't find Windows Defender log.
Defender keeps informing me every couple of days that its fixed a problem, but it won't tell me what. I've tried the usual Protection history etc but there's nothing. I've a feeling it's something to do with PUP protection but I'm guessing as its a new installation and I've only downloaded stuff from reputable sites. Is it being paranoid, or am I?

Windows resilience
I want to let you know what happened because itâs the first time in all my 30+ years IT life. I used to have two volumes/partitions, C: for Windows OS and E: for my data. Thursday evening I started Windows Update (only for last November 2019 cumulative update, I update very often) and shut down when finished. On Friday morning when I booted up the system I saw the Windows nice landscape photo but when I tried to login the password box was not shown, no way to login. I tried ALL possible paths (safe mode, cmd, etc.). You know what I found? Using diskpart from cmd I found a single volume/partition that was the merge of my C: and my E: data !!! dir command was showing all my C and E directories and files together in one single volume/partintion! Windows was corrupted somehow, no gpt fix, efi rebuild was successful. My SD with my Windows 10 File History was not accessible (and useless since the OS itself was corrupted). All my data were there, there was no encryption so, without any login, I saved all my data on a usb hdd with robocopy (this is very bad on a security perspective, Itâs enough to have a usb stick and some time with a pc available, e.g. lunch break, and you can stole the whole data from it, easy, no password, no hack. Either Bitlocker or, even better, a 3rd parties encryption after UEFI layer is recommended. But this time I was happy I did't have bitlocker). The only solution to bring back to work the laptop was to boot from the Recovery Drive (lucky I did and had) and then restore a full image (lucky I did and had) with the old Windows 7 Backup Tool and finally robocopy back all my data (then upgrade again but not to the latest cumulative, better to wait a bit, a fix might come, then backup again). One additional note, since during the restore process I chose not to format all partitions from scratch, now I have one single partition C: with both OS and Data, Iâm leaving Windows decision be the final one on how my volumes have to be on my laptop đ

Floating Clocks in Windows 10
Why it was decided to remove the gadgets feature from Windows. I know that the store concept is the next version of gadgets, yet, for all the little features like the floating clocks, we have to go to the app store. This is difficult, for all the corporate systems, that has restricted access and especially, no store access. Is there any alternative, rather than installing from the app store?

windows 20 h2 update
this is the craziest way to get updates for new versions. I tried a month agao to update to the 20H2 update and all I accomplished is a messed up computer i had to have a complete reinstall because after the ypdat i had multiple errors had Clsid errors on task manger , event viewer MMC. could not install or run support assist or quick assist could not open or run windows powershell or quick assist. I have version 1909 because that what was piut in in the reinstall I m not getting any updstes at all mu update history is blank. the last updast was 0n 14 adobe acrobat. yet when i hit the check for updtes i get the 20h2 update and say p to date with green box so wht gives. I was told windows 10 was so great not if you have to almost do an upgrade and lose aposs features programs and have multiple errors. I have been in contact with a microsoft tech and they say we will walk you through it . Like that helps i ma not a computer expert and understand the lingo and what to do. Walking me through it instead of remotely connecting and help in is like dropping me off in a foreign coutry and expecting me to know the language immediately. I have to say that the way to get new version updates is really not good give me back 7 any day. 10 is really not all that great in my opinion. I may just stay with 1909 and and just say the heck with the up grade . i am truely afrid to take this on myself because i do not want to kjeep having to go to a ech geek Squad or dell to have my operating system reinstalled every time. This new wy to up get new versions to me sucks sorry for the language . Please can someone help me either do it for me or not walk me throuh it . i have gone to delll geeksquad on line and they all say the same thing we will walk you through it that is the wrong way to do things
