How do I switch out of S mode in Windows 10?
Windows 10 in S mode is designed for security and performing, allowing only apps to be downloaded and installed from Microsoft Store. Until you switch out of S mode, you're not allowed to install a desktop app. Switching out of S mode is one way and free of charge. If you switch out of it, there's no going back. To switch out of S mode: 1. Press WINDOWS LOGO + I and click "Update & Security" > "Activation." 2. In the "Switch to Windows 10 Home" or "Switch to Windows 10 Pro" section, click "Go to the Store." (If you also see "Upgrade your edition of Windows," try not to click "Go to the Store.") 3. In Microsoft Store, the "Switch out of S mode" (or similar) page appears. Click the "Get" button. After seeing a confirmation message, you'll be able to install desktop apps outside of Microsoft Store.

Windows 10 update
My OS is Windows 10 Home 32bit version 1909. When I check for updates, I get the message that the Feature update 20H2 is ready to "Download and Install". When I do that, the update fails at the very end after 2 hours of downloading and installing. I get a message "Undoing changes made to your computer....." and I am back to version 1909. I am told by Microsoft Support that I should first update to Feature update 2004 and only then proceed to update to Feature update 20H2. But how can I do that when I don't get the option to update to Feature update 2004. Instead I am straight away offered Feature update 20H2 whenever I check with Windows Update. Can some one please help me? M K Loyalka
Update Windows 10 In Windows 10, you decide when and how to get the latest updates to keep your device running smoothly and securely. To manage your options and see available updates, select Check for Windows updates. Or select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Select either Pause updates for 7 days or Advanced options. Then, in the Pause updates section, select the drop-down menu and specify a date for updates to resume. Note: After the pause limit is reached, you'll need to install the latest updates before you can pause updates again.
Quality updates are cumulative, so installing the latest quality update is sufficient to get all the available fixes for a specific Windows 10 feature update, including any out-of-band security fixes and any servicing stack updates that might have been released previously.
There are multiple ways to install a Feature Update (new version of Windows 10). The most common way for users to do this is using the Windows Update setting. Just like installing a cumulative update (regular Windows Update), a feature update will download then initiate the installation.
