If you used Backup and Restore to back up files or create system image backups in previous versions of Windows, your old backup is still available in Windows 10. In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel. Then select Control Panel > System and Security > Backup and Restore (Windows 7).

Select the Start button, then type control panel in the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar and select Control Panel (Desktop app) from the results. Search Control Panel for Recovery, and select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.

To restore files from a file backup that was created after the system image backup was created, follow these steps. Select the Start button, then select Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Backup and Restore. Choose Select another backup to restore files from.
