Issues w/replicating to OneDrive
I need some help understanding this new (to me) feature that requires all data on my hard drive to be replicated on the OneDrive. Not sure when this became standard practice but I recently became aware of it when I replaced my old desktop with a new desktop and noticed that there was no difference between the folders and documents on my hard drive and the ones on the OneDrive. I don't think I like this feature for several reasons: 1) As someone mentioned, you need an internet connection for it to work, not always the case for me and others. 2) You can really screw up your records if, say, you shut down your computer before OneDrive has completed the upload. 3) It's not clear to me how it manages the documentation on my desktop vs my laptop. I like the syncing with browsers but not with my hard drive. They have two different purposes. So what have I done to correct this? I turned off the OneDrive app on my desktop and I use the OneDrive web to access the files on OneDrive and I manually move specific files from my desktop to the OneDrive so I have access to them on my other devices. I still have the OneDrive app active on my laptop, I guess it's hard drive is all replicated on OneDrive. So, I'm not sure if I'm looking for help or just want to vent. I'll always welcome comments, pro or con, w.r.t. my approach but this was a major disruption for me and I never saw it coming. Not good.

need admin status to install printer driver?
I'm trying to install an HP ML-2510 printer driver. Win 10 is giving me a message asking if I want to allow this app to make changes to my device and to enter an admin user name and password. There is no space to enter it and I get the same message when I try to access User Account Control. I'm wondering why I need admin access to install a printer driver on a home computer? Is this an indication of a problem or does Win 10 actually require admin login for this? If admin login is required how do I give myself admin access without having admin access? There are no passwords set on the computer I just can't get to the screen.

Interacting with Computers 😀
Recently, I have heard conversations and comments that 'we' are spending too much time on our devices and less on our interactions with human beings. I respect these views but I do not share them. The world of the Internet and our devices (mine is a desktop computer) offers me splendid opportunities to engage with so many people across this world of ours. Whilst it is a fact that there are downsides with some aspects of the Internet connectivity, the positive opportunities are much more. For those of us who live in rural communities the Internet offers a 'window' (excuse the usage of 'Window' on the rest of the world. 😎 This particular platform is a favourite of mine 🤩 and the sense of connectivity is fantastic. Also, this platform affords me and people like me, an opportunity to explore the world of computing and its advantages. So many thanks to you all and especially the Windows Teams 😉 you guys are really 😎

All of my devices crashed simultaneously. Help please???

Set phone up and it new who I was and had already had update with malware waiting. As well as being controlled by third party. The sophistication was unbelievable. The possible outcomes are nightmarish. Lost all contacts, passwords simultaneously. This is my last hope. Hacked Edge AND Hacked Google
