HELP..-files locked after updating windows7 to windows10
I recently updated my windows 7 to windows 10. Realised my google drive folder, in window.old (that has been carried in from windows 7) seem to be encrypted, it has a lock sign. I have tried decryption it by various methods available, nothing seems to work, (changed security attribute, changed ownership, tried command prompt decryption) however no luck :( . The folder was not synced with the cloud hence a lot of files in the folder were sitting on my local drive. Now I can't access them at all. I understand window.old folder will automatically delete after 30 days, and I have about 10 days left to get access to these otherwise all may be deleted. Any help to rescue these would be much appreciated. Note: 1- I had backed up this folder on my external hard drive, and have realised the same issue appearing on the external hd. 2- This particular folder is google drive folder, however it wasn't synced as the capacity was exceeded. I hope the issue is understandable, and I hope someone will have solution on this as I am completely exhausted trying to recover these work files.

Is Zoom safe to be used on Windows 10? 😕
I am due to participate in an important virtual meeting in the next few days. The preference of people appears to vote for Zoom. Given the privacy issues and the problem with zoom-bombing, I have serious concerns. I welcome your advice. Many thanks and keep well 😊

Is there a way to fix Windows without having to lose everything? Some of my programs are paid for and I don't want to lose them.

What is the best antivirus software out there?
I always wanted to ask this question since I honestly don't know enough about computers. I always wanted to know if I am wasting my money buying McAfee or is the windows updates enough? Is it harmful to have too many antivirus software on your computer. If one computer has it at home does it effect the others that are on the same network?

Inclusion for all disabilities 🤩💯✔
Many contributors on this platform recognise and applaud the 'Ease of Access' features on Windows 10. Microsoft teams are to be congratulated 👏 with a personal thank you for me. From my very latest experience helping another visually impaired User to use Word in particular the screen reader and Narrator, I have the impression (I could be wrong) that marketing/raising awareness to disabled users could and should be improved. By way of explanation, the other day, I was able to assist a colleague to create a simple Word document. Imagine please 😊 'Anne' sitting at her desktop with the landline telephone stuck to my ear and my colleague doing the same in her own home. Although it was a prolonged process, I was able to help her discover some of the basic features such 'read aloud' and Narrator. When I discussed this experience with a community group, some people that they were 'afraid of breaking their computers' and not being adventurous enough because they were unsure of what they were doing. Something about technophobia perhaps. I replied that they would have to hit their computers with a very heavy item to break them. I also mentioned that operating systems are usually reliable and have their internal routines to resolve faults/errors. One person said that computers are an enigma to him. I replied that it is an enigma to me at times 😊 🤣. But, there was a general sense from this conversation that computer technology was for the 'clever people' and those who had all their faculties. I disavowed that presumption with my colleagues/acquaintances. Quite strongly actually. But it has made me think about how we can change this 'perception'. So, I am challenging Microsoft (respectfully of course 🤩😊) to comprehensively engage with users who have disabilities ; raising their awareness of the opportunities that information technology affords. FAO Moderator - please do not hesitate to socialise this with MS colleagues. Many thanks all 🙏😊

What is machine learning? | Microsoft Azure
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/overview/what-is-machine-learning-platformMachine learning (ML) is the process of using mathematical models of data to help a computer learn without direct instruction. It’s considered a subset of artificial intelligence (AI). Machine learning uses algorithms to identify patterns within data, and those patterns are then used to create a data model that can make predictions.

Machine learning, molecular simulation, and the ...
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/podcast/machine-learning-molecular-simulation...A lot of the work we’ve been doing has been using machine learning driven by, uh, experimental data, but we’re very excited to augment that and amplify that by using molecular simulation, where we’re creating data more from first-principle simulation of the—the quantum physics of molecules of proteins folding and interacting with other ...
