Browser problemen
Sinds enkele weken heb ik (op Windows 10 Home) problemen met mijn browsers. Eerst Edge chromium die regelmatig bevriest tijdens het browsen (nadat ik op een link druk, ik vooruit of achteruit wil of een tabblad sluit). Dan enkele minuten flitst een zwart scherm voorbij en kan ik weer verder. Totdat het probleem opnieuw optreedt, enz. Opnieuw installeren of cache opschonen had geen resultaat. Met alle andere programma's op de computer kan ik gewoon blijven werken. Vervolgens ben ik met Chrome gaan werken en daar trad na een tijdje hetzelfde probleem ineens op. Ook nieuwe installatie of cache leegmaken hadden geen effect. Nadat ik de volledige Chrome cache map via de Verkenner verwijderde (tip van iemand) kon ik ineens weer normaal werken maar na een tijdje kwam het probleem helaas terug. Vervolgens Opera geïnstalleerd en dat werkte als een zonnetje dus ik dacht dat ik er vanaf was. Nu 2 weken later is het feest voorbij en heb ik hetzelfde probleem. Ik weet niet of er een verband is maar in de logfiles zie ik heel vaak deze (DistributedCOM) melding: In de machtigingsinstellingen toepassingsspecifiek wordt de machtiging Activeren niet verleend aan Lokaal voor de COM-servertoepassing met CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} en APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} aan de gebruiker (...) met het adres LocalHost (via LRPC) die wordt uitgevoerd in de toepassingscontainer Niet beschikbaar SID (Niet beschikbaar). Deze beveiligingsmachtiging kan worden gewijzigd met het beheerprogramma van Component Services.
What new feature would you like most in the next Windows?
It seems lately the most we expect in terms of new features is security updates these days? I would like to see a major revamp to the U.I. and how about a good cleaning of legacy code out of Windows. Why not cut the fat out of the system a bit and have delineating feature set between legacy of 10 or more years ago and new. In other words try to make windows run faster on less resources. Add some new U.I. tweaks and eliminate redundant menus and settings. Add a new kernel and filesystem that is faster and more efficient. Harden the kernel further against attack and run more processes in sandbox. I would be pretty excited to see a new windows with those features, how about you?
Sticky Notes Insights not working as web site shows
I love the new version of Sticky Notes and how it interfaces with all of my devices. I use it constantly! But I haven't been able to completely use Insights. Here's my notes from the FAQs for Sticky Notes. I am using a Surface Pro 4 (OS build 18363.1016) and Surface GO (OS build 19041.450) and Sticky Notes 3.7.142.0 Does anyone have a similar experience? SINCE SOME OF THE INSIGHTS WORK THIS DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE THE PROBLEM BUT WANTED TO DO ALL TROUBLESHOOTING BEFORE ASKING FOR INPUT FROM THE COMMUNITY.

I got to thinking this morning about how far we've come with smart phones and laptops, and now foldable phones and soon foldable laptops, since the hay day of things like the Day Runner. Yea! how many of you remember when those were in their hay day. And it's still available too. Back then when you wanted to take a note, you opened your Day Runner and wrote the note. Today, you open your gadget (laptop or phone), open OneNote and write you note with a pen too! Need to jot down an appointment or see if you're busy? Other than the obvious that everything now lives in the cloud and is sharable, have we really come that far?
