Microsoft’ priorities –cosmetic change or neglecting faults
There used to be a car manufacturer in the UK called British Leyland, which was widely alleged to leave the reliability testing of new models to those customers who were foolish enough to buy them. Needless to say, its cars were full of faults and, unsurprisingly, the company went out of business. Microsoft seems to be heading down the same road. The latest Windows 10 Features Update 2004 apparently offers 16 new features. But it has also caused major problems for Windows users. These have been known since at least May, and many are unresolved, but this Update is still not labelled as a Beta version and users are being encouraged to take the Update without any warning that it is still full of problems. In my case, it has totally f**ked up my system. I cannot get any sound out of my audio system (Realtek in a Dell XPS 8930), and there is nothing in the troubleshooter, the support system or community forum which provides any clear and explicit guidance about how to resolve this. This approach to user support seems to typify Microsoft’s casual attitude to users of its systems. When Edge was introduced, it was an alleged improvement on Internet Explorer. It claimed to have many new features, but it also omitted some useful ones that had been part of IE, making some processes such as downloading and saving a copy of a pdf more complicated and time-consuming for users. And its handling of Favourites was and remains a disaster. What can we expect from the promised new Chromium-based version? Another shit-show? Office is suffering from the same pattern - producing continual unnecessary superficial cosmetic changes while reported faults are ignored. If the managers can't get the priorities right, and/or the programmers can’t cope with the complexity of what they are being asked to produce, isn’t it time for some substantial changes in the company’s personnel?
Microsoft's Games with Accounts, Cannot recover, DITTO lies
How can it be that Microsoft will not let you recover myaccount that I can Provide a great majority of the details and pertinant personal account data/information and be denied access to an account I set up, that is just simply wrong. I mean ask me who I emailed and corresponded communicatiions with for one, What was the topic etc. i ave an ID DAH! Just have to vent because they are always right NOT! Maybe a CALS should be brought forth , Sorry but I got ripped out of Office 365 one time Paid both Microsoft and my bank they covered my dispute, Double dippin in my book. Piad for it and no product Wish I could get away with charging and not having to provide my customers with thier item. How many have had unreasonable disputes with that empty feeling of legitimate victim of poor only the company benefits from one-sided corporate policy. I am stilll mad but have moved on just wont aquire an Office product again. Oh I am not done Remember when you bought MS Office and it was Yours, Pay on a Yearly basis now and your renewal date passes buy, then overdraft fees . I buy something once and it is MINE
I don understand why Microsoft charges $100 year fir 365
It’s almost seems like Microsoft try to rape their customers $100 a year on the windows 365. That Microsoft product I won’t only use once in a blue moon. Microsoft is just as bad as this corrupt US government they know that customers have to have it in order to make document for resume etc. Why? They that hard up for money like the government. I will type up a document on my iPhone before I pay for that. May not be able to make it as fancy but it helps to pay for this high cost of living. If Microsoft even cared about there customers why can’t y’all make it more affordable that’s outrageous. I’m not a tight on money but I’m a single parent trying to provide for my kid and I. I’m not the only one but I will speak out for those that feel the same.
Live time for a computer using Microsoft Windows/Office
This is a question with a open end. There will always a end to something we use. We buy a car, a phone and a computer. A car can be used as long that it is servable or kept running with old parts. A phone often ends at the live time of a battery. Computers though change every day and components change the same way. In a few years we went from the GTX video Carts to RTX2000 and a year later to RTX3000 Processors went the same way from dual to quad cores and in between we managed to go in a flash from socket LGA into Motherboards that work that quick with a Intel Core i9 10900K. A version Windows was reliable for 5 years and 5 years end of time. In how far can we find with all our knowledge a live time for a composed computer? Before we went out of a door of a shop, it is almost antique. I understand that time rushes us bye, but explaining this all to elder people, who turned every dime twice, becomes almost impossible. Let me know your thoughts about this. Ben
Which Microsoft Defender feature(s) really annoys you?
I'm looking forward to know your reactions regarding the annoying feature(s) of Microsoft Defender, if you have. The one I hate is Defender scanning the dead virus files which have been removed, but cached in Protection History. I had to deal with a stupid PUP for 3 months because Defender constantly gave me fake alerts regarding the dead thing. :(
new Microsoft Edge save battery?
I like to know if the new Edge that came out Jan. 15 will save battery like the old Edge? Or is it still in the work?
Will Microsoft ever re-launch Windows based phone(s)?
I for one,and with great certainty, am unhappy with the Google/Android cabal. I currently own and use an Android based phone, because I don't like the costs and controls inherent to the Apple World. The Chrome "Operating System" and Google browser are tools for the data mining hordes that are Alphabet/Google/Chrome/Android. I make every attempt to shut-off, delete, and never use Google based products; still they track my location(s), and attempt to force recommendations to my phone. I turn-off all location and data sharing options daily. Every time I charge my phone Android resets my defaults. I use Microsoft Launcher, Edge, Bing et al; because I choose to limit access (whenever I am able) and believe that the Microsoft people are slightly more trustworthy, and have treated better since the 1970's. When attempting to use Bing Maps, via Android phone, I am often blocked or switched/defaulted to Google Maps, and all Android location services are switched-on. I daily get Google/Android push notices telling to adopt the Android way of life. When first introduced, I saw little green Android droid as a cute logo. I now believe that it a symbol of semi-conscious forced assimilation. Whatever happened to the "Don't Be Evil" header? Have they collectively choked on the Irony of the very Idea? Mister Gates and Microsoft have accepted Android as the "Winner", in regards a mobile platform. I am using Android "only " because there appears NO viable option(s). I currently see Huawei and Alphabet/Google/Android as being equally "Trustworthy", and only marginally different in motivation for controls.
I'm hating signing into to Microsoft it's horrible to use!
every single fudging time I am on a work's laptop or my home I am being asked to sign into Microsoft - I can't send a simple email or use app like skype without seemingly having to change my password or wondering what sodding account I'm signed up to - honestly it's horrible and so time wasting and confusing and unintuitive - how annoying can you be Microsoft?!! UGH
Ever feel like MicroSoft© isn't being completely honest ?
It is my concern that transparency and nomenclature are major issues that MicroSoft™ refuses to . . . or is unable to (probably little of both) address . . . It is my belief that software (and hardware) should be both reliable and elegant . . . LIKE A WALL SWITCH ! ! !
