This Windows Community Conversation Board Thing
Please everyone forgive me if I have misunderstood as I do not wish to sound too negative. But I was under the impression this was for discussions about Microsoft & It`s operating system (windows) NOT a support group for windows support, especially as their are a Hugh number of support groups out there not to mention Microsoft windows support services. I may have only read a few comments so fare but the majority where about how to fix windows issues. Conversations on here about how, why and why they haven't been addressed successfully Syme to be more welcome & appropriate.
ISP Problem of Windows Update?
"website (www.microsoft.com) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts." This is the error detected by the troubleshooter. I cannot update my windows 10 whenever I connect to a certain WiFi network or ISP. I've tried ipconfig /renew and /release but it still doesn't work, and other recommendation here in this community but none of those work. Meanwhile I just updated my windows using my data connection. It is clear to me that the problem is not on my machine but it's either on my router or ISP. Do you have any recommendation aside from calling the ISP?
Top 5 mistakes I have made on a PC
5. Buying flight simulator for windows 95 and expecting it to work on Windows 10. It didn't. 4. Running 106 tabs on Google Chrome, 55 on Edge, Microsoft Flight Simulator X, 2 virtual machines, and 12 Microsoft Word documents and a PowerPoint at the same time. Guess what happened I used more memory than I had and the PC froze. 3. Forgetting to scan flight simulator planes before use for viruses. I fixed it before it was too late though. 2. Trying to burn a DVD in a CD only burner. It became useless and I used it as a Frisbee. 1. Screwing up configuration files in the C:/Windows/System32 folder. Luckily it repaired the operating system.
What is an R8 file and how can I convert it
I have seen R8 files in the texture folders of Microsoft Flight Simulator 98, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000 Professional Edition. In Flight Simulator 2002, 2004, and FSX texture files are typically in BMP or DDS format, however I would like to know where I can convert these to BMP or DDS or something convertible to those in a project to make the FS98 737 compatible with FSX. FS98 and FS2000 are 16-bit applications while 2002, 2004, and X are 32-bit.
How to keep Edge up to date
1. go to the three dot on the top-right on the corner. 2. on the bottom-left click on About Microsoft Edge. 3. Then it should say checking for updates. 4. If there are no update it will say Microsoft is up to date. 5. If there is a update let it finsh. 6. Then click on restart. And that is how to update Microsoft Edge.
Tantalizing tidbit of trivia about Outlook!
Here's a tidbit of info on Microsoft Outlook 365 and Outlook 2016. Did you know that it is very easy using the Advanced Options in rules to set up an incoming email to go to one or more mail subfolder? Of Course you did! But do you use it? To bad it's not available in Mail, but Mail does follow along either Microsoft Outlook 365, or Outlook 2016 so it just might work. I never use Mail or Calendar, so I wouldn't know. Is this a good option, or a bad one You make the call!
According to Neowin this morning Microsoft Edge will now allow users to disable the "reveal password" option. It's already available in Edge Canary, so I took a look see and played with it a bit. What I found out were 2 things. The first was that my eyesight was too poor to disable that feature, and secondly was that my fingers didn't always hit the key that they were supposed to. Zugang Telefon-Nummer zu meinem Konto ändern nicht möglich! Mit der Bitte um Hilfe! Hallo Microsoft Comuinity, wer weiß was? Vor 4 Wochen bin ich nach 10 Jahren zurück von Thailand nach Deutschland. Mein Microsoft-Konto war mit der Thai-Handy-Nummer registriert. Nun habe ich in Deutschland natürliche eine deutsche Nummer. Die Thai-Nr. geltet hierzu nicht mehr. Das Ändern in Microsoft ist unmöglich, da Microsoft einen Code an diese Thai-Nr. senden möchte - letzte 4 Ziffern. Dieser Code kann ja nicht mehr ankommen. Fehler von mir aus Unwissenheit: Habe eine Wiederherstellung beantragt, die 4 WOCHEN dauern soll, bis Microsoft reagiert. Da ich mich nicht anmelden kann - bzw. Tel.-Nr. ändern, laufen einige Programme nicht, insbesondere Excel, das ich dringend brauche. Microsoft habe ich angefragt über diese automatische Abfrage. Eine Mail-Adresse gebt es nicht. Die mir zugesandten Infos und Links funktionieren nicht. Code senden auf die alte Thai-Nummer ist nicht mehr möglich. Meine neue, deutsche Handy-Nummer ist eingetragen, wird von Microsoft jedoch nicht angenommen oder erkannt. Microsoft ist zum Verzweifeln. suche seit Tagen eine Lösung - ohne Erfolg! Kann jemand helfen? Wäre ganz wundervoll und ich sehr dankbar, Es eilt sehr und ist wichtig herzlichst Brigitte
Windows Activation
As is well known, a lot of used computers are often shipped off to our shores in Africa and other less privileged areas of our globalising ville. We do sometimes face the problem of accessing the product keys of such devices, particularly for activation purposes. Isn't it possible for microsoft to retrieve such keys for current legitimate users/administrators use, once they provide product ID and last five digits of the product key? Methink it should be feasible or....?
