Has anyone been having fun with Edge?
I have been using Microsoft products since DOS 1.0... Yep I'm so old that I can remember when we had to rub rocks together to get dirt to plant peanuts. Edge is unique that it has harvested all my favorites, since day one, and given me the dark side of Backup/restore. I tried my friends, and I have no enemies to ask, they all died of old age. And now Internet Explorer is being hauled off to the boneyard. Work, of course, doesn't use anything but IE... Soooo, me being the old geek and all that, they off load their problems to me. Does anybody out there in the land of people have had favorites listing so long that they could be used to fish with?
About the upcoming windows or OS.
I am hearing a lot of rumors that windows 11,12 or 13 is going to be launched and i am searching about it on Google there are links to install these fake or real windows i don't know whatever this all is about or maybe they are built by hackers to corrupt windows because when Microsoft first announced of launching windows 11,12 or 13 .After that they announced that there would be no new windows but two major OS updates every year . This all is very confusing because i want to make sure my laptop is up to date i hope Microsoft do something about this.
Online classes for kids: knowledge gained > innocence lost?
Should kids have to care about login, password, account, zoom, TEAMS? I started thinking about this when a friend of mine was describing her "New Normal" few months ago - How she had to help her kids figure out school-supplied-equipments, online classrooms, accounts, logging in, figuring out passwords, online submission... Online learning or any kind of learning is great, but what's the right age to start. What's the right taxonomy, verbiage for kids? What do you think? I also wonder if anyone at Microsoft is thinking about this while designing their products. Disclaimer: I don't have kids (thank god!!).
Windows Defender and Norton 360
As I understand it The Windows / Microsoft Anti virus Defender program/services automatically is installed in my HP Desk Top. Also Verizon which is my carrier includes Norton 360 anti virus. Do these two services function together ? Do they get in the way of each other ? Is there anything one must do or be aware of when there are two (2)Anti Virus programs automatically installed on the same device?

Won't update
A couple weeks ago my laptop stopped downloading/installing most Microsoft updates. And when I looked at update history everything before 29 April 2021 was gone. I have updates successfully installed under "Quality Updates, KB5003169 ( 5/11/2021) and KB4023057 (04/29/2021), and under "Other Updates" is KB8090830 (5/11/2021). Other updates are listed as Failed to Install. When I pull up the Windows Update page there is an alert saying "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes" and will not update/download anything. I don't know if any of this info helps you. Please be kind, I'm an old lady on social security. LOL. Moment of Need Learning (MONL)
How do you get the naive, untrained, beginner to learn programs and guidelines faster and more effectively? The answer is arrange your material to be interactive and adaptive so that it can respond when a user/learner needs the information. This is the most ignored, unused learning paradigm since the concept of pre-creating a curriculum using the concept: 'one size fits all." and experts know best. For a period in the personal computer revolution 1959-2009, computer program usage awakened to the ideal that their training materials and their programs would capture more customers and less churn if they designed their training and Solutions material to be "USER FRIENDLY." A trendy way to make their introductory, intermediate, and help services were interactive with the user: that it gave a definition, showed a diagram, linked to a procedure when the student wanted it in real time and fast time. The art of creating USER FRIENDLY PROGRAM CURRICULUM, developed to an effective teaching art and then has just disappeared. Program introductory and advance training is virtually devoid of need based, instant training. Microsoft manuals used to be covered with blue links. Technical terms linked to examples and definitions in nanoseconds, Feedback questions, with personal choices, peppered their online manuals linking individuals when they wanted and needed a diagram, a video, a paragraph and did NOTHING AT ALL when the reader didn't want it. Today, upon the down load of OUR NEW WONDERFUL MICROSOFT EDGE, OR X, OR X.....THE reader is forced into a slideshow. put into a psudo reward motivation program, and constant intrusions from the dumbest virtual counselors with the most illogical complexities of questions and choices I have seen since the coin operated Fortune Tellers were retired from the 1920-1930's. Videos jump in and slather the entire screen with pre-ordained information, 3-D graphics are being forced fed into this process. WHO THE HELL IS IN CHARGE?
SSRS Parameters, Expressions, and Multiple Subscriptions
Hello everyone, for those of us who have used SSRS long enough to know there is no straight forward way to set up multiple subscriptions from one .dtsx (ssrs) report. We can enter expressions within design mode and whatever it is their it will either use the built in expression or a default value, but we cannot enter a new expression on the subscription screen. ~ take for example I need a subscription to run report each Monday for the previous weeks data, in addition to that I also need another subscription to get the previous months data every first of the month. Well, sometimes Monday and the 1st of the month fall on the same day so how can the built in expression we apply in design mode understand to use both...it can't. If Microsoft allowed for us to override parameters values/expression -using- new expressions inside subscription menu, it would be cleaner than having to come up with unnecessary alternatives just to get the same report to run using different dynamic parameter values such as date ranges.
La mia esperienza con Windows 10 nel 2020
Microsoft ha migliorato molto i prodotti Windows 10, assicurando anche un'esperienza free già dal 2015 con un aggiornamento dei prodotti precedenti ( XP, Wista, W7, W8 e W8.1). Con Windows 10, Microsoft ha migliorato moltissimo l'esperienza lavorativa ma anche quella privata ma non va dimenticato che con questo nuovo prodotto è aumentata moltissimo la sicurezza e l'aggiornamento dei Driver tramite Windows Update. Ci sono a volte degli errori in cui incorriamo ma bisogna dire che nulla è perfetto in questo mondo.... Però Microsoft è costantemente orientata nel cercare di migliorare e risolvere. Insomma, ottima esperienza.
