Quick Start Guide to Windows 10
Whether you’re picking up a Windows device for the first time or you’re a long-time computer user transitioning from Windows 7, here’s what you need to get up and running on Windows 10 quick and easy.

Windows update history & Windows update catalog
Has anyone visited the Windows update history & the Windows update catalog? You can find information on all the cumulative updates for different versions of Windows 10 (known issues or fixed issues). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4581839/windows-10-update-history For the Windows update catalog, you can download updates & drivers for your device. Please note, when downloading updates, make sure to note if your device is running x64, x86 or ARM64 and be downloading the right Windows 10 version. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx Please check it out if you haven't before.

Outlook folders, friend or foe?
Building folders within Outlook and creating rules to automate where your emails land always sparks a love hate conversation. My relationship started cold and warmed up quickly as I had to become best friends with Outlook during my time in a Business Administrator role here at Microsoft and I'm curious to know how you all feel about it! Love? Hate? Or the perfect excuse as to why you didn't catch someone's email :)

Never forget an important appointment or task with Cortana’s Notebook to set reminders and to-do lists to get things done fast.

Program shortcoming
How do I avoid getting complete link address windows whenever I pass over embedded links in messages? The link address window sometimes takes up a third of the screen and obscures messages I am trying to read. I have never got a response from Comcast (Xfinity) or Microsoft (the e-mail program) to past queries I've made on this issue. I first asked for help on this problem seven months ago. This is all very frustrating and I need a fix now!

My Ode to Outlook Client
I started out using Microsoft Internet and Mail, which was then morphed into Outlook Express which then became my main mail handler back in 1996. Over the years there have been many good and some not so good changes to the product. In 2010 when the whole of the internet really started to change, Microsoft made some of the worst changes to Outlook. IMHO Microsoft really screwed Outlook up. Functionally it was still the same, but navigationally it was a total mess.( Yeah, I’m talking about the original “Ribbon”) I guess I wasn’t the only one that though so, because what we have now is an easy to navigate tool email client again! Now that I am retired, I still find Outlook invaluable. While there have been many fantastic enhancements to the email side of Outlook over the years, Microsoft in their infinite wisdom did not change the one that was and still is invaluable to me. It is so invaluable that it keeps me from using their other Outlook, or the Mail and Calendar. You see in the Calendar when you set up an appointment or meeting, you are given the option of setting a reminder. Now while you can set a reminder in the other Microsoft Mail products, those reminders are preset, and cannot be change. With Outlook if you need a reminder in 45 minutes, or if you need one in 2.5 hours, you can change that to that time or for that matter to any time that you may need. Microsoft, thank you for not changing that. If you were to bring that one feature to your other email programs, apps, whatever you want to call them, then even an ‘ole $%art like me might start using them, although I doubt it though, muscle memory you know! Really enjoy the mail Quick Steps as well

Windows Audio Endpoint Builder & Audio Device Trouble
Does anyone else have huge RAM memory and CPU "Very High" activity in Win 10 now? I am talking about the above process (Audio Device is under heading "Net Service").......which you can see using Task Manager. So just using my computer normally, while running this Microsoft Community , or when running a game such as Java Minecraft........I am seeing anywhere from 200 megabytes to 3 gigabytes of RAM usage and CPU usage of 20% to 60% of CPU usage. Right NOW as I am typing Task Manager says I am using 900 mb memory in Endpoint Builder and 806 mb in Audio Device (48% Memory)- 54% CPU usage in Endpoint Builder and Audio Device. This seems unbelievably over the top usage on my 16 gig Ram, AMD-FX6300 cpu machine. I AM NOT LISTENING TO AUDIO.....I AM NOT TALKING IN MS TEAM, I am only typing this post in Microsoft Community.. Whilst playing Jave Minecraft I have had the game crash- checking Audio Endpoint and Audio Device I see them running 90% of Memory and 88% of Audio Device.... What other tasks is the Audio Device doing? Is it running some other type of operation that is unstated? Thanks for any comments....if you check the web you will find many other people talking about the same subject!

Windows 10 S Mode
Well I finally bit the bullet, and bought a Windows 10 S Mode tablet. My concern over buying was the horror stories I've read in here and other places about switching out of S mode. I called my computer guy that I go to when I get stymied and he told me that most of those problems were related to those that bought S mode tablets that were not Microsoft, but rather Dell, or HP or some other brand that were loaded with their bloat wear. I decided to do it, and he was right. Snap, Crackle, Pop. Easy as 1, 2, 3. The only thing I had a problem with was getting the $%% vertical tabs to stay off. Once that was finally off everything looked normal. Still updating but all is looking good. Glad I did it. Nothing against Dell, or HP, or any other brand out there, but if your looking to do something like this, I would definitely stay with Microsoft. Of course that just my $.02 worth. YMMV

Surfing by
Just thought I would surf by and 'see' if you are all okay and keeping well. With all the online work being done at home by millions of people Microsoft (my fav provider) has most definitely demonstrated its relevance in our twenty first century. Please all, keep well and remember to give your devices a clean especially keyboards. I have just done mine (I did remember to shut down the computer first 🙄).
