Utterances on Updates
Trying to be alliterative, not sure I succeeded 🥴 Thought I'd bore you for a while about Updates (From an almost quote by Jimi Hendrix). ALWAYS stay absolutely current❗ Meaning withOUT delays❗ I will talk about what is/was and what will be. Windows tries to restart your PC as infrequently as possible. Win10 has Saas or WaaS (Software as a Service, Windows as a Service), which refers to its FREE auto-updating. * There are 2 FEATURE updates annually or the bi-annuals, one in the Spring (H1) & one in the Fall (H2). Normally, one is Minor & one is Major. * There are Monthly Updates (2nd Tues). These are 90% security, 10% functional, so to speak. They are cumulative, meaning what IS + what's new. So, you don't have to go back & pick up anything from the past. They require a Restart. Ergo, besides the bi-annuals Windows is restarting your machine once a month. * Restarts can be set by the End User to happen outside of "Active Hours" 👌, now, that said... things have changed/are changing/will change. Some may have, already, noticed things are quicker, taking less time. A while back the methodology used for update delivery changed. The bi-annuals are much smaller & lighter & will become even more so. Updating is somewhat re-organised & more efficient: 1. Store is now handling most apps or will be & more than it did 2. Hs are being delivered in the same way as monthlies, now. 3. Some of the burden of the bi-annuals will greatly lessened in the near future. The OS will receive Feature stuff as soon as it is ready, instead of waiting for an H. This will happen via Windows Feature Experience Pack. You can see this, now in System > About, but it's not doing too much yet. Most of the above is, already, happening. Much is part of 21H2. 21H2 is heaps more than what will be visual & tangible, more than the cosmetics. Heaps of under-the-covers stuff with 21H2, as well as the superficial or visually obvious. This all improves the User Experience greatly. Cheers, Drew

Previous + Latest Windows Update: MISMATCH
🤔 Can March "C" OPTIONAL UPDATE(KB5000842) can be downloaded & installed with together with April "B" Update(KB5001330)? ✔ Yes 100% but remember it would be like "Back to the future" from KB5001330 to KB5000842. Under UPDATE & SECURITY --> ADVANCED OPTIONS --> upper right of the screen, states: "Windows Update might update itself automatically first when checking for the other updates" 👌 March "C" Update it will be recognized as OTHER UPDATES, & it will download & install first the KB5001330 then the KB5000842. 😕 It will create conflict between the two updates. MY BEST ADVICE: LEAVE KB5000842, TAKE KB5001330 GET BUG/S, ERROR/S or BSOD THEN GET FIXED when available.

FIRST THING FIRST, BEFORE AN UPDATE
To AVOID ISSUE/s (software) after an Update, specially in Patch Tuesday or The Monthly Update. Run Command Prompt as Administration EXECUTE THE OLD COMMAND/s or SYNTAX -->SFC /SCANNOW (This is to REPAIR/FIX any corrupted/missing files in your system. -->DISM /Online /CleanUp-Image /ScanHealth --> DISM /Online /cleanUp-Image /RestoreHealth **** The DISM command/syntax itself tells what it can do to your system. **** Always KEEP AN EYE on EVERY result of each command/syntax, & if EVERYTHING is fixed. You are READY to UPDATE. I did this to the unit having ISSUE/s (Some update files are missing or have problems. We’ll try to download the update again later) before I made an update. EXPERMENTING AS LONG YOU DONT DELETE/ERASE/RENAME/CHANGE/DISABLED ANYTHING(SYSTEM FILES, COMPONENTS, WINDOWS FILES & SERVICES, THE REGISTRY).

Windows 10 v21H1: New Ecosystem Road To Sun Valley
If you are ready to use the Windows 10 v21H1 try "NOT TO MISSED" the Monthly "B" Update & The Optional "C" Update. I always INJECT IT INTO MY SYSTEM every available update/s that is offered via Windows Update (Check for Updates) button, I never missed one... Since 1909 to 20H2, luckily I never had BSoD/s but there are MINOR BUGS/ERRORS such as GAME HANGS, CRASH & FREEZE... (Not perfect System, unlike Clue in Tron Movie) I always CHECK, UPDATE & BACKUP my System, 2-3 days before the Monthly "B" Update arrives. When there is a corrupted files detected & repaired by SFC & DISM. I always do RESCAN.
