Uninstalling Office 2010 before loading Office 2019
Come on guys - - for clarity, I do not intend to run two versions of Office; I am replacing 2010 with 2019 on all my pc's. I am now retired and do not have the same level of need/use, so it is not economic for me to use 365. Please address the question directly. (1) I believe it best to uninstall Office 2010 before installing Office 2019 (2) Is using the "comes-with" Office uninstaller adequate to clear all elements; or, should one use Revo Uninstaller (or a better uninstaller if there is one to recommend) to be more confident that there would not be any "lingering gremlins" of 2010? I sincerely appreciate your replies. Thx, Doug
Microsoft 365 Update
Recently there was an update to Microsoft 365. In my case the only ones that I really use are OneNote, Outlook, and Excel, and of course OneDrive. With this update, in Excel, there now seems to be a slight hitch in it's git along. For instance. Column widths are not holding to size, no biggie right? Unless you switch from laptop, to Phone, to tablet, like I do then it's a real problem. Also and this one is critical for me. I have several columns that contain specifically formatted cells. These are formatted with various symbols like %, #, lb., mm, etc. you get the picture. After this update these formats have disappeared from the unfilled cells in the workbooks? that's what's troubling. It's an easy to recreate fix for me, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has seen anything out of the ordinary after one of these updates. My argument is why is it that OFFICE come as a complete package. I know that lots of people out there use it and love it, but for me most of what OFFICE offers I have no idea how to use it. I just about get by on WORD. I would like to see for the likes of me, that Office comes as a package or as separate items like Word, or Excel and so on. That way I can buy just Word and if I need another then can add that at a later date. As a whole package for me its just a waste as I never understand how it all works except Word. Ken Hunt

Microsoft Outlook 365 (Desktop)
In all the years I've been using Outlook, I have never had this happen, so I thought I would pass it on just in case any of you ran into it. I don't know for sure whether or not this last update caused the problem but it's suspicious When I got an email, I noticed that all I was getting was the header and not the body of the email. Played around with some setting and thought I had it fixed. Nope! Did a little searching on Bing, and found it to be a known problem and the cure was rather simple. Turns out that the server seemed to think that I was in Offline mode. reset that along with a few other parameters while I was in there and the problem seems to have disappeared. Keep that in mind if that happens to you. Apparently it is also a known issue with Gmail as well.
