FAO Moderator 😊 Windows 10 Quick Guide (PDF) Feedback #1
Hello What follows, are comments from my two neighbours/friends who read the guide. I preface my comments by indicating that these people are big fans of Windows/Microsoft. 'Most likely we would not read the guide as we are very familiar with Windows'. 'However, as you requested we did read the guide and we think it is very good - we are able to follow the videos and instructions with no trouble whatsoever'. 'We normally flip over to the search engine and ask our question if we get stuck with something - we think this is a better way for us'. 'For visually impaired people, videos will not be that helpful'. 'Keep us in the loop Anne'. 'BTW, we like the new Edge - very fast on our new Surface devices'. So Moderator 😊 - this is the feedback from my friends who are Windows fans 👏. I will leave all the other feedback on this platform as soon as I have received it. Keep well and regards to the Windows Teams 🤩
unusual problems with Windows 2004
Hey all, I had a couple of unusual problems when I updated my 2017 Surface Pro i5 to Windows 2004. I have three external WD passport drives (2.5 inch) connected via a USB hub on the surface dock, and after the update the drives would produce a loud clicking sound about every ten to fifteen minutes. I think it has to do with a power saving mode but changing those settings or turning them off with WD utilities did nothing to prevent the issue. They also seemed to never actually go to sleep with the lights blinking 3 times every 10 seconds or so. I have formatted the drives in exFAT. When I went back to Windows 1909, the problem stopped. Could this be something to do with the new windows search or indexing features? Also, and its small, but the onscreen keyboard got smaller when used in full QWERTY mode. It now has a border around the left and right edge of my screen and shrunk the keyboard to fit. It's not a big deal when using the surface in landscape mode, but it definitely is more difficult to use when in portrait mode. Thanks.
After windows update, Auto repair shows on bootup
so there's an automatic update downloaded on my laptop, specifically the 2020-12 cumulative update for windows 10 version 2004 for x86-based systems (KB4592438). I shut down my laptop, and it was automatically updated. Later i opened the laptop, It shows on boot screen 'Preparing Automatic Repair' i waited and it shows that it failed, i restarted the system but it is still the same (it failed). I searched on the net on the things that i can do, I treied startup repair and some things on Command prompt, yet i didn't work. then I did the system restore thing, waited an hour then my pc booted up fine. once im inside the system, it shows that some apps are not working (its fine cause they are just bloatwares), but the update was prompted again to the laptop. I saw that it was already downloaded again (since i am not pausing updates) and just waiting for computer to restart ('pending restart'). I am now scared to shut down or restart the laptop because i might not be able to fix the problem if it happens again. Can you give me some tips on what to do, is there any problem with this update? UPDATE: I clicked restart and update. The pc restarted, but the windows update is still in there. The same 2020-12 update. I paused now the update (the 7 day option) and shut down the laptop. I hope it will be okay cause i badly need it to work.

Why isn't there a level 3 or more for Microsoft Rewards????
I have been a loyal user of Bing. Everyday I use Bing on my laptop and phone, on the Microsoft Edge web browser--including quizzes and polls--in order to, maximize the amount of points I can receive on a daily basis. This permits me to earn a high amount of points in one month, upgrading me from level 1 into level 2; however, that is the highest level--not unless you have level 2 + Xbox Live Gold, but I can not afford an Xbox unfortunately. Anyways, I strongly believe there should be more levels, such as a level 3 that either includes more benefits or it enhances current benefits, such as: an increases in daily Bing search point limit, Bing search bonus daily cap for Microsoft Edge, Points earned per $ spent in Microsoft Store online, etc. As previously mentioned, establishing new Rewards level perks is not a bad idea also, ideas such as a separate and exclusive redeem store section with different and new gift cards available to receive by exchanging points or, if it is not too much to ask, a one-on-one conversational chat with a Microsoft Engineer to discuss their experience and their field of work because I believe that is a valuable incentive and resource to be available for college students who seek to find themselves working for Microsoft.
