Latest update "broke" my Surface Pro 3
After installing the latest update my Surface Pro 3 went haywire. Windows for any/all apps were resizing and or closing themselves spontaneously. The caret/cursor was flying all over the place. Apps that had settings e.g. a metronome app, would reset all on its own. Thankfully, I was able to revert back to the previous build. So, WTF?

U-Turn Slot: v21H1 back to v2004 or v20H2
π For those who can not or did not wait v21H1 to appear in Windows Update & took v21H1 using or via https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10 ,you have 10 days from the date of installation to make a U-turn when you feel/think that your PC/Laptop is not roadworthiness in v21H1 or something that is not right in your journey. π π How to make a U-turn: β go to Settings β click Update & Security β click Recovery In the right panel, look for "Go back to the previous version of Windows 10" β click Get Started π I prefer to use this way/method than via Control Panel. I will let my system choose what it is needed to do. π π How do I know that there is 10 Days... β go to Settings β click System β click Storage In the right panel (for your eyes π only, curiosity create problems) β click Temporary files & wait, look for "Previous Windows Installation(s)" β click β¬ (back arrow at upper left corner) β click Configure Storage Sense or Run it now Scroll down & look for "Free up space now" & read (for your eyes π only, curiosity create problems) π its been 1 day 16 hrs 30 minutes(Task Manager: CPU Up Time) since I upgrade to v21H1 & seems to be everything is just fine.

Windows Search and OneNote results.
I used to be able to type into the windows search bar and it will show my notes in OneNote. However, I notice now that I have to type the search string and then select Documents in order to see them. Before I could find them under "All'. Is there some way to restore this? I haven't changed my search settings. I assume they have been altered within updates.

Create Free Space ππ A Nice Tipβ
As many know there is or there might be a Windows.old folder on your Sys drive. If, all is good AND you have no need for anything from the previous Windows, as in, for example, before & after 21H1... that BIG Windows.old folder can be removed. The TIP here for you is that there is a really easy way to do this... the OS will do it for you via this path: > Settings > System > Storage. Under Storage Sense click on Configure SS or run it now. Down at the bottom of the page you will see Free Up Space Now. Check the box & hit the button. Will a take a few (the folder is BIG), but when finished the unneeded Windows.old folder will be gone and you will have created a BIG chunk of precious free space on your OS drive πππ Certainly look for this folder & do the above after the H1 & H2 Updates. Or after upgrading to Windows 10 If you use MCT to update you will have the folder after completion Cheers, Drew

How low is "low free disk space" for Storage Sense?
Hi, Is there a way to fix Storage Sense settings to set the threshold for "low free disk space"? I've noticed that when I get to ~60GiB remaining from 475GiB (SSD), everything runs very slowly, so I want Storage Sense to function before it reaches that stage. I don't need Storage Sense running on a fixed schedule, but it'd be useful to have this setting so it can run as and when.

It's the little thing we forget sometimes
I was over on Windows Central this morning and came across an article "How to reset the ribbon menu settings in Office". Initially I passed over the article and moved on. I then went back to it and read it and it brought back memories of those days when I did actually change the what's now called the ribbon. Pretty much had forgotten all about that. Anyway here's a link to the article if you're interested. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-reset-ribbon-menu-settings-office
