I'm just sharing my experience. Hoping your suggestion to correct or improve the steps based on your experience, so I can learn much from this community for the step / tips/ trick that I don't know. Usually this happened on built-in camera. I will take the following steps and stop the next steps if problem has solved: 1) Sign out from current account -> restart -> sign in with administrator account. 2) Update BIOS, then camera driver, then camera firmware if suggested and/or available from laptop manufacturer. 3) Update Win 10 to the latest version including all pending updates -> restart computer. 4) Troubleshoot Windows Store Apps. Find it by typing "troubleshoot" in windows search. 5) Check the camera privacy setting, whether it's blocked. Find it by typing "privacy settings" in search. 6) Reset Camera app. Find it by typing "apps & features" in search -> Advanced options -> Reset. 7) Check camera device compatibility in Device Manager -> right-click camera device -> Property -> Driver -> click Driver Details. If there is stream.sys in the list, then I will suggest my client to replace the camera device with a new one or use external camera. If not, it might be compatible with win 10. 8) Edit windows registry. Sometime can fix the problem. WARNING : please readers DO NOT do this if not familiar. Do it with your own risk. 8.a. Backup and save current registry setting. 8.b. Edit registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> WOW6432Node -> Microsoft -> Windows Media Foundation. On the right pane of the Registry Editor of Windows Media Foundation, create the new DWORD (32-bit) Value -> enter EnableFrameServerMode (without space) as the title for the new DWORD -> double-click EnableFrameServerMode -> Input 0 (zero) for Value data -> OK -> Restart. If any things is missing or there is any other tips that I don't know, please let me know.
looking for the hardware troubleshooter in Win. 10?
hi all: Some people have wondered as to where the hardware troubleshooter is in Windows 10. Microsoft took it out starting from 1809, because it has the lowest usage. One website I found stated that it is not gone, but rather, it is hidden. To use it, please type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic via cmd (administer privilege). The hardware troubleshooter will appear. Hope this help.
Sticky Notes Insights not working as web site shows
I love the new version of Sticky Notes and how it interfaces with all of my devices. I use it constantly! But I haven't been able to completely use Insights. Here's my notes from the FAQs for Sticky Notes. Hello Windows Community. I am making this post to ask everyone, please for the love of god. You need to understand that we here are not AI, we do not simply understand random words. To be able to help we need actual helpful information regarding your issues, not just random words randomly put in a sentence! If you say ''My computer is slow for no reason'', you are not helping us help YOU. Yes I can give you A LOT of troubleshooting steps, but isn't it going to be better if you just provided some more valuable information. 1. When did the problem occur, and have you done something that might be the reason for the issue? 2. What version are you running of Windows 3. Is it a laptop or a Desktop...etc. Information like this is extremely helpful, because sometimes no one can help you, if you are the only one who understands the thing that you have written! Please try to make sure there is no spelling mistakes that will make your message unreadable! Make sure you have (in detail) explained your issue. Make sure you have given enough info that we can understand, there is nothing like TOO much details when it comes to such problems! The more details you give us, the better and faster we will be able to help. I am extremely annoyed when I see so many confused people like me here, just because someone was too ''lazy'' to write two more sentences! I am always trying to answer, but sometimes I can not, and most of the times I can not because I do not understand your issue! How do you expect us to understand if even Google struggles to find results. Please, be more careful when explaining your issues. I am not trying to look like I am the smartest guy, but I think we can all agree that it is annoying not being able to help just because we simply do not understand the issue 🤔 Thank you for the time spent, wish you all an amazing rest of the year 😀
