What does your computer mean to you?
A fairly simple question I'm sure people sometimes never put thought into. Your personal computer, or maybe even your work computer, may be such a mundane thing you never truly put too much thought into... well about how we all think what our computers and the technology we have around us truly means to us? For me, my computer is a gateway to knowledge... while also providing a path to entertainment and procrastination when I just really can't be bothered to be productive. But what does it mean to you?
The Continuing Hardware Mystery
Perhaps there is a sleuth within our community who can shed a light on a vey peculiar issue. Background:-I have a HP Touchsmart 300 (All-In-One} bought in 2009 - operating system Windows 7 Home Premium. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity to upgrade to the new Windows 10 in 2015. Yes I am aware that my HP 300 is 10 years old and that some of the issues may be put down to age, however It has been well maintained and is still in perfect physical condition so I am hesitant to say age has caused certain devices/hardware to stop functioning. In a nutshell after an Insider Preview update a device/hardware suddenly no longer works. The first to go was the microphone array and to date this no longer works and I had to install a external device. Other devices/hardware that suddenly stopped working which I thought was linked to the sound problem although the sound problem is now resolve. Sound issue resolved after further insider updates. At the moment I have to continually change the display drivers after each Insider update back to the original agreed Microsoft/AMD 2015 drivers which work perfectly with my display hardware. The new drivers they install each time they update OS results in a display out of focus, stretched and overall it looks very dull and wrong. The resolution is far lower than the capabilities of the display. Has anyone else encountered the above issues or perhaps have an explanation?
Disappointed in Surface Laptop 3
Have a Surface Laptop 3 (1+ year old) which has the same problems especially Windows Edge browser frequently becoming dormant with a message " Edge is not responding". In addition system seems to degrade over time: sound, light takes longer to take effect, and MSN.com window gives me the same message and have to reboot to use. Can't really tell if it is Edge or the Computer. Called support multiple times. They run the fixit tool, reset the Windows Edge browser and I'm good for a while and the process begins again. I use to take it to the store but now that's gone. Support has gone from US to foreign country and frankly is getting less than satisfactory. I find this new support crew very unsure. They often have to check with someone else before they do anything. My impression is that Microsoft is degrading also, since the stores are gone. Hate to see that happening. Will not purchase a MS computer next time.
Security.
Why does MS not concentrate on providing the best security available. This to me is a huge money maker in that I would not use Norton, Malwarebytes, Acronis special software on their router on my computer. I am sure each user would happily pay $200 each year just to have peace of mind. I akin this to my cooking- OK for everyday but go out for good food!!!
Cannot start Word or Excel in office 365 w 10 err 0xc0000142
After a while i get the error 0xc0000142 that should have been fixed in version 1803. I have automatic update active and is now on version 1909
Why Windows?
Why do you use Windows? Was it your original choice or your switched from another OS? If you switched, what made you move away from what you were using previously? Why do you keep using Windows?

AGGIORNAMENTO WINDOWS VERSIONE 20H2
salve a tutti sto scrivendo qui perché ho un problema con il mio PC fisso perché non riesco ad aggiornarlo all'ultima versione di Windows rilasciata (versione 20H2). Spiego nel dettaglio l'errore/problema che ho riscontrato: andando su impostazioni vado su aggiornamento e sicurezza e installo la nuova versione, il primo caricamento è veloce il secondo impiega più di un'ora. A caricamento finito premo sul tasto riavvia e quando si riaccende il PC mi spunta schermata blu con le due opzioni spegni il PC o risoluzione dei problemi (io non premo risoluzione dei problemi perché non so dove mettere le mani) quindi spengo il PC e si riavvia. Quando mi ritrovo sul desktop nella sezione notifiche mi dice che c'è stato un problema con l'aggiornamento e mi viene riportato un codice di errore (0xc1900101); ho letto su internet che questo codice di errore riguarda dei driver che vanno in conflitto col sistema ma non so quali possano essere questi driver (avevo cancellato anche quelli del joistick PS4 ma niente da fare). Vi prego ho bisogno del vostro aiuto sono disperato.
problem on windows defender
i have problem with my windows defender i got notifecation about it . it said your windows defender is off .. but when i open it i can not understand any thing on windows defender so my question is how i can check from my PC there is any way to find it please tell me
