Won't update
A couple weeks ago my laptop stopped downloading/installing most Microsoft updates. And when I looked at update history everything before 29 April 2021 was gone. I have updates successfully installed under "Quality Updates, KB5003169 ( 5/11/2021) and KB4023057 (04/29/2021), and under "Other Updates" is KB8090830 (5/11/2021). Other updates are listed as Failed to Install. When I pull up the Windows Update page there is an alert saying "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes" and will not update/download anything. I don't know if any of this info helps you. Please be kind, I'm an old lady on social security. LOL. windows 20 h2 update
this is the craziest way to get updates for new versions. I tried a month agao to update to the 20H2 update and all I accomplished is a messed up computer i had to have a complete reinstall because after the ypdat i had multiple errors had Clsid errors on task manger , event viewer MMC. could not install or run support assist or quick assist could not open or run windows powershell or quick assist. I have version 1909 because that what was piut in in the reinstall I m not getting any updstes at all mu update history is blank. the last updast was 0n 14 adobe acrobat. yet when i hit the check for updtes i get the 20h2 update and say p to date with green box so wht gives. I was told windows 10 was so great not if you have to almost do an upgrade and lose aposs features programs and have multiple errors. I have been in contact with a microsoft tech and they say we will walk you through it . Like that helps i ma not a computer expert and understand the lingo and what to do. Walking me through it instead of remotely connecting and help in is like dropping me off in a foreign coutry and expecting me to know the language immediately. I have to say that the way to get new version updates is really not good give me back 7 any day. 10 is really not all that great in my opinion. I may just stay with 1909 and and just say the heck with the up grade . i am truely afrid to take this on myself because i do not want to kjeep having to go to a ech geek Squad or dell to have my operating system reinstalled every time. This new wy to up get new versions to me sucks sorry for the language . Please can someone help me either do it for me or not walk me throuh it . i have gone to delll geeksquad on line and they all say the same thing we will walk you through it that is the wrong way to do things
(KB4557957) After update key Board is not working properly
I got (KB4557957) UPDATE from windows , after this key board of my new laptop Dell Inspiorn 5593 is not working properly some keys are not responding sometimes while they give multiple inputs sometime. what I tried 1. uninstall and Reinstall drivers . 2. tried to run in safe mode and Bios 3. Tried to uninstall update (KB4557957) found in update history but not listed in removeable updates after that 3. Reset my PC with windows. (it comes with a new problem "mandatory Login Pin" ) i reset/ recover windows but still problem is there. tried external keyboard ,, please suggest on both keyboard issue and login pin issue(which can't ) be Removed Regards,
2004 update
The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. I am hoping that all the bugs are out of this new update and old ones have been corrected.. Is anyone getting the pop up below and has found a way to eliminate it?? " The Recycle Bin on D:\ is corrupted and do you want to repir it? Tried lots of suggested fixes none seem to work.
after update my computer whipped clean
After I installed an window's update all my pictures etc was whipped clean. It said welcome to windows like I had just started and every time I restart my computer it does it again. Can anyone help me figure out what to do?
Failed windows updates recently
For the last 3 weeks my windows 10 updates have failed. Has anyone else had that problem?
If Definition Update April 27th Hits an Error
If you hit an error when updating Defender definition April 27th, do this: > PowerShell OR Windows Terminal. type Update-MpSignature hit Enter When complete it will not be listed with Definition Updates in Update History. The next one via WU (tomorrow) WILL be listed. AND if you now check WU again it will say it is Up to Date, now đ Cheers, Drew
Windows update cleanup not clearing
I installed the latest cumulative update for Windows 10 2004. When I go to storage to cleanup Windows update cleanup, it cleaned up but not completely. It didn't say 0 bytes like before. I think this is a bug in 2004. I created a test user account but issue didn't get resolved. Last time, I basically reinstall Windows. Edge does not work on Microsoft Update Catalog page
Microsoft's own pages won't open in Edge, but they work using Google Chrome. Oh, and turning on Internet Explorer compatibility in Edge does not work either!
