change administrator on windows 10
My and I shared a Windows 10 PC. She now uses a different Windows 10 computer, but the one we shared is registered under my wife's MS account, and displays her name. She is happy for me to change the original PC to be registered to my own MS account, and become the Administrator. How do I do that, so that it displays my name? You can see the problem, as it is my wife's name and image appear with this question! I guess any notifications about this question will be sent to her email account as well, come to think of it. No matter, as I have access to her emails.
Do you use Two Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA)
Many websites are now offering 2FA protection. Some sites make you use it. When it's offered, do you enable it? I have been adding 2FA to all my accounts ever since someone tried to hack my Amazon account. That was scary. I have credit cards and other personal info store with Amazon and if they had gotten in they would have had it all. With Two Factor enabled, someone would have to hack my password AND be holding my mobile phone, to be able to use the 2FA app and get the code to log in. That makes it almost impossible for anyone unwanted to get into my accounts. I've also been enabling the feature that notifies me by email if someone tries but fails to get in.
LOG IN WITHOUT PASSWORD
I want to log in without password but each and every time ask to a password also using "netplwiz" and '"userpassword2" but it method doesn't work on it and when start a pc than show a left side two account " first administrative " and other local . otherwise iam want to delete a local another account . but doesnot show "accounts" in window setting SO WHAT I DO for removing a password
Enabling Secure Sign-in (CTRL + ALT + DELETE)
1. Press WINDOWS LOGO + R. 2. Type "netplwiz" (without the quotation marks) and press ENTER. (If you get a User Account Control dialog box, either provide confirmation or type in the password.) 3. On the Advanced tab, click to check the Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click OK.
Changing computers/emails and how it affects Microsoft 365
Here is my scenario. I have a Microsoft 365 account with an email address of firstname.lastname@example.org. I have moved and changed carriers and soon will not have that email address. I also bought a new PC and when I was setting it up, I did so with my new @gmail.com address. My problem is, after doing some reading, it seems I can't just change/link my existing Microsoft 365 to the gmail address because it says it's already in use?? Does that make sense? These Microsoft accounts and 365 accounts seem like a pain to me. My uses are simple, as I don't link or sync devices or anything like that, I just want to be able to simply log into my PC and have access to my 365. It seems every time I turn around they make a change and I end up having issues. Basically I'm concerned that I will get locked out if I try and switch something and lose access to my paid 365 subscription.
Sometimes i think that Cortana is just so difficult to control mean so many accounts and i don't think that even giving access of the calendar it does not show the birthday so what can i do about that the thing surprised me that Cortana is not even able to answer some questions as well.
Outlooks on outlook, notes on Note
I need two pieces of guidance as wading through documents and pages is not giving me any confidence about Outlook. (1) Like I have had with Google/Gmail, can I add any number or at least say up to 5 or less extra accounts under my MS account? This issue sort of links to my second piece below because I am not sure how MS accounts work with what seems to be two distinct MS "accounts" with apps, etc. More on that below. What I want to do is what I had in Gmail and I am moving over to MS from Google. I have an email@example.com email I see in the MS Office Outlook app. I IMAP my current Gmail and created PST folder files. What I really need most is another firstname.lastname@example.org per se account. Like in Gmail I have AAA@gmail.com and AAB@gmail.com. Can I do this without buying another subscription? (2) I saw articles on using Outlook.com versus Outlook 365. I do not see the same things so apparently they are different, but why. Should my email@example.com be seen in both? I use the 365 app as I pay for that anyhow. Outlook.com I assume if from my original account signup??! This is confusing and feeling trapped as I have with OneNote 2016 versus OneNote 365 and no way to combine them short of geek city. (3) I forgot to mention a third, so is there any way possible to change my MS Account ID from (no laughs now) firstname.lastname@example.org? I mean I have no need now for any Google garb so is there a way short of canceling my current subscription under the Gmail ID and opening up another, same subscription details, but using my email@example.com as the ID?? The only thing working that I get pretty much between subscriptions and Office versus .com versus app versus ???? is OneDrive. I can see that sync from W10 desktop and my iPhone. I can use OneDrive.com and use the app, it all works. Why doesn't OneNote work that well? Does Outlook work like that? Thanks for the help in advance. Such a Blah conversation. Alan
need admin status to install printer driver?
I'm trying to install an HP ML-2510 printer driver. Win 10 is giving me a message asking if I want to allow this app to make changes to my device and to enter an admin user name and password. There is no space to enter it and I get the same message when I try to access User Account Control. I'm wondering why I need admin access to install a printer driver on a home computer? Is this an indication of a problem or does Win 10 actually require admin login for this? If admin login is required how do I give myself admin access without having admin access? There are no passwords set on the computer I just can't get to the screen.
