What is the best antivirus software out there?
I always wanted to ask this question since I honestly don't know enough about computers. I always wanted to know if I am wasting my money buying McAfee or is the windows updates enough? Is it harmful to have too many antivirus software on your computer. If one computer has it at home does it effect the others that are on the same network?
PC Won't Recognize External Drive
I have an HP desktop PC running Windows 10. I have a Western Digital My Passport external drive for running backups. I am using EaseUS Todo backup software. The last time I initiated a backup the PC did not recognize the drive. I changed cables and moved the drive around on different USB 3.0 connections, but could not get the PC to recognize the drive. The drive does light up so the connection is live. Why does the PC not recognize the external drive, and what can I do to fix that?
URGENT ALERT RE HACKERS, VIRUSES, AND DANGEROUS THREATs
Today I received an urgent, very loud, alert from what appeared to be Microsoft, telling me the computer was in serious danger from hackers trying to gain access to my personal information. I was instructed not to turn my computer off or leave the page and was afraid to exit. I was also instructed to call the phone number provided immediately. I was not aware of any MS security threat scams and was quite worried. The technician I spoke to on the phone assured me he was a licensed MS technician and that since my computer had already been hacked, all my personal information was in jeopardy. This was a first for me and decided it would be best to trust his judgment. He accessed my computer and seemed to think 17 hackers were attempting to take over my computer and said my entire security system was locked, so I would not be able to proceed without removal of the threat and the addition of a network firewall and an IP protection. He took me to a web page for RIGHTPCEXPERTS.COM in Tampa, and gave the impression they are affiliated with Microsoft. Because I am age 69 he offered me a "discounted price" of 299.00 and I was left to believe it was imperative, as all my devices were in danger. I was then referred to a second agent who said he would be able to remedy the problems with my PC. HE REMOVED MY SYSTEM MECHANIC AND THEN installed an AD BLOCKER, CC CLEANER, ANTI-VIRUS HACKING. HE SEEMINGLY CLEANED MY COMPUTER AND THEN INSTALLED A NETWORK FIREWALL, AN IP NETWORK ACCESS PROTECTOR. After I PROVIDED my credit card number for the charge of 299.00 I was told there was an additional fee technical fee of $120, that would be paid in 12 installments of 9.99, for a total of 420.00. I was so reluctant but thought I had no other choice but to proceed. Like another gentleman who was concerned about the legitimacy of this company, I am left wondering if they are a scam. MY INVOICE READ AM PC SECURITY, NOT RIGHTPCEXPERTS OUT OF TAMPA AND NEXWAY HANDLED THE TRANSACTION.
Hola. :D 😀

windows network authority created a monster. I am not sure how to rid myself of a human parasite. It makes me sad knowing that my neighbor uses her talent her education her ability her smart phone her hp network office printer to access my computer. Using I am not sure what or how to remotely manage my computer as a workgroup computer organization administrator with the right to monitor everything I do. I use my computer to invest and trade using my TDAMERITRADE Brokerage account. I noticed that when I called the call center the answering service that gives choices to connect is now the same AT&T male robo answering service that directs calls to a 3rd party assisted call center of scammers and bad actors that literally used my wireless account to start an e business and cancel every wireless phone order I made. Latest update "broke" my Surface Pro 3
After installing the latest update my Surface Pro 3 went haywire. Windows for any/all apps were resizing and or closing themselves spontaneously. The caret/cursor was flying all over the place. Apps that had settings e.g. a metronome app, would reset all on its own. Thankfully, I was able to revert back to the previous build. So, WTF?
