new Edge not offered in Windows update?
hi, I reinstalled Windows few days ago, but why am I not offered the new Edge in Windows update? Is there a block there? Is anyone facing the issue? By the way, based on this article https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2020/07/24/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-19042-421-20h2/ under Theme-aware tiles in start, how to get start menu to look like the one on, after?
Windows Search Index high resources usage.
There is a sudden, increase in the resource usage (CPU, RAM, DISK) by windows search indexing. So i tried running troubleshooter. this didn't helped. Then in command prompt, i tried running sfc scannow with administrative privileges. This also didn't helped. At last i had to turn it off by heading over to service manager. But i don't want to turn it off. Please help ! I am currently on latest version of windows 10.
I would like to understand why this ...
I could not stand it, I had to come here to tell this to microsoft and for what you want to hear, why discontinue a system as good as windows 7 to put users in this system full of flaws called windows 10? , i use windows 10 i explored it completely and it's sad ... microsoft says that support ends up having too much time and if using windows 7 after support users will be exposed .... i'm sorry to say more this is not argument why i believe microsoft knows well that if one is looking right between a user with windows 7 after support and another using windows 10 with support the most exposed vulnerability is windows 10 so i want to tell all this to those are thinking about migrating to windows 10 or already have windows 7 and are feeling threatened by it, and what I say is: Do not abandon a system that flows perfectly to one that is worse than windows xp! Thanks for your attention, sorry if I offended anyone else I needed to state my opinion that this story of ending support should be Reanalyzed.
Having a program run each time you sign in to Windows
If you use a program frequently, you may want to add it to the Start-up folder. Here's how: 1. Right-click Start, click Run, type "shell:startup" (without the quotes) and then press ENTER. 2. Click Start, type the name of a program, right-click a program in a list of results, and then click Open file location. 3. Right-click a program's icon, click Copy, right-click inside the Start-up window, and then click Paste. Alternatively, you can use Registry Editor to have a program run each time you start Windows. Here's how: WARNING: Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) is a very powerful tool that lets you directly modify the registry. However, incorrect use of Registry Editor can cause serious, system-wide problems including hard disk corruption, general instability, or the inability to use your computer. It may be necessary for you to reinstall your operating system to correct the problems. Microsoft does not support modifying the registry. Use this tool at your own risk. 1. Press WINDOWS LOGO + R, type "regedit" (without the quotes) and then press ENTER. 2. Double-click the following registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value. 4. Type the name of a program and press ENTER. (For example, PowerShell Core.) 5. Double-click a newly-created value, type the drive, path, and the name of a program, and then press ENTER. (For example, C:\Program Files\PowerShell\6\pwsh.exe) 6. Exit Registry Editor. NOTE: On Windows 10 20H1, if you right-click a program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab, you can enable "Register this program for restart."

Older PC games
I haven't been able to play C & C Generals since I switched to Windows 10 about 3 years ago. It loads from the CD just fine but when I click on the .exe file to start a game nothing happens. From what I've read on the internet there is some type of compatibility issue with Windows 10. I have tried at least a half dozen workarounds but nothing ever works. Very frustrating. Probably an easy fix for the Windows 10 programmers.
History of Windows Since 1985
I am writing this message as a suggestion to devote a website to the various versions of Windows along with a description of major additions and improvements of one build over its predecessor from the original Windows (release date 11.20.85) up to and including Windows 10 (release date 07.29.15). A lot of changes have happened since Windows first appeared in 1985 and from time to time I will think about the evolution of and the countless changes to the program that single handedly revolutionized personal computing as we know it today. Just the change in size of programming code from way back then to now is mind boggling! I remember getting a new computer with a 60 MB (Yep, MB) hard drive and how I was envied by co-workers. We thought a 60 MB storage drive would be more than enough to meet any future needs. Nowadays, some office documents and many stand alone apps are that size and greater. Microsoft has every reason to brag on its accomplishments and contributions to the tech industry in just over 30 years. Displaying these events would not only be of historical importance but perhaps an educational tool as well. A virtual tour and perhaps enabling online access to functional prior operating systems would be interesting to young and old (Yes, I'm on the "old" side). Anyway, you folks are more than talented to come up with the best way to exhibit this idea to share with the world. Maybe its been discussed before but if not I just wanted to encourage a thought process to consider its viability. It could also be an excellent tool to market Microsoft into future generations. In any event, congratulations to Microsoft and its employees for past accomplishments and best wishes for continued success! Thank you for your consideration in this matter, your time and talent! God bless all of you and yours, and bye for now, Paul
