windows phones
I cant understand why MS is not making windows phones. I got the first nokia 1520 back in late 2013-2014 and still have it. people ask me all the time were did you get that phone. and I tell them well I got it from my att store a long time ago and they say oh well. there a lot of people that want a phone that is not Ios or android. I think that MS made a BIG mistake not staying in the mobile market. by the way my phone was the first big phone on the market and when I first got it people said...so what are you going to do with that big phone. so sad that MS got out of the phone arena. yeah cloud is the way they want to go now but MS is more then that. aside that doing away with phones cost MS billions. so sad.
unusual problems with Windows 2004
Hey all, I had a couple of unusual problems when I updated my 2017 Surface Pro i5 to Windows 2004. I have three external WD passport drives (2.5 inch) connected via a USB hub on the surface dock, and after the update the drives would produce a loud clicking sound about every ten to fifteen minutes. I think it has to do with a power saving mode but changing those settings or turning them off with WD utilities did nothing to prevent the issue. They also seemed to never actually go to sleep with the lights blinking 3 times every 10 seconds or so. I have formatted the drives in exFAT. When I went back to Windows 1909, the problem stopped. Could this be something to do with the new windows search or indexing features? Also, and its small, but the onscreen keyboard got smaller when used in full QWERTY mode. It now has a border around the left and right edge of my screen and shrunk the keyboard to fit. It's not a big deal when using the surface in landscape mode, but it definitely is more difficult to use when in portrait mode. Thanks.
Windows Defender SmartScreen using ~30% of CPU all the time
I am running windows 10 and my computer has a SSD and Windows Defender SmartScreen will not stop running. I have tried restarting, making an excluded folder for windows defender, doing the full scan in hopes that it would be better after a full scan, and none of that has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Will they ever fix the bugs on Windows 10 Photos app?
1: JFIF files (excluding all other jpeg formats)not being able to stay in a album. (This is also a issue on Onedrive, as jfif files do not stay in there too.) 2: Paint 3D folder hogging performance for the photos app. 3: Not being able add photos to a album from another album. 4. State Repository Service, Runtime Broker, and Photos app all using CPU usage. I was wondering when are they gonna fix these issues, it's been a long time, and I'm thinking the intergrations are making things worse. All they did was round some corners on some buttons and then proceed to give up.

Do you prefer 2 big Win. 10 updates or 1 per year?
Now Microsoft comes out with 1 big Windows 10 update each year (spring updates like 1903 & 2004) while the smaller update is the fall update. Would you prefer it the current way or before (1703, 1709, etc.)? I like it the current way, because the fall update is smaller and faster to update. The spring update already has big changes.

Setting up virtual machine running an older Windows version
I'd like to try running virtual machines with Windows XP, 95, and 3.11 to access old software that no longer runs in Windows 10 - Things not even compatibility modes will run. Anyone have some guides for that?
