HPFS Is No Longer Supported on Windows 10
HPFS stands for High Performance File System and was a file system developed by IBM for OS/2. However, on Windows NT 4.0 and up to later versions of Windows 10, HPFS is no longer supported. File systems available for Windows 10 are FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and exFAT. Windows 10 can be installed to a partition ONLY if it uses NTFS.

Windows 10 S Mode
Well I finally bit the bullet, and bought a Windows 10 S Mode tablet. My concern over buying was the horror stories I've read in here and other places about switching out of S mode. I called my computer guy that I go to when I get stymied and he told me that most of those problems were related to those that bought S mode tablets that were not Microsoft, but rather Dell, or HP or some other brand that were loaded with their bloat wear. I decided to do it, and he was right. Snap, Crackle, Pop. Easy as 1, 2, 3. The only thing I had a problem with was getting the $%% vertical tabs to stay off. Once that was finally off everything looked normal. Still updating but all is looking good. Glad I did it. Nothing against Dell, or HP, or any other brand out there, but if your looking to do something like this, I would definitely stay with Microsoft. Of course that just my $.02 worth. YMMV

Windows Defender Support question
I have received an e-mail from "Windows Defender Support" says they have charged me $399 for 12 month subscription. I did not order it. I did not authorize any payment from my account. Please advise

Having a program run each time you sign in to Windows
If you use a program frequently, you may want to add it to the Start-up folder. Here's how: 1. Right-click Start, click Run, type "shell:startup" (without the quotes) and then press ENTER. 2. Click Start, type the name of a program, right-click a program in a list of results, and then click Open file location. 3. Right-click a program's icon, click Copy, right-click inside the Start-up window, and then click Paste. Alternatively, you can use Registry Editor to have a program run each time you start Windows. Here's how: WARNING: Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE) is a very powerful tool that lets you directly modify the registry. However, incorrect use of Registry Editor can cause serious, system-wide problems including hard disk corruption, general instability, or the inability to use your computer. It may be necessary for you to reinstall your operating system to correct the problems. Microsoft does not support modifying the registry. Use this tool at your own risk. 1. Press WINDOWS LOGO + R, type "regedit" (without the quotes) and then press ENTER. 2. Double-click the following registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run 3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value. 4. Type the name of a program and press ENTER. (For example, PowerShell Core.) 5. Double-click a newly-created value, type the drive, path, and the name of a program, and then press ENTER. (For example, C:\Program Files\PowerShell\6\pwsh.exe) 6. Exit Registry Editor. NOTE: On Windows 10 20H1, if you right-click a program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab, you can enable "Register this program for restart." On Windows 10 May 2020 Update and later, if you shut down your PC while programs are left open, they will be restored when you turn your PC back on.

Does Windows 10 have a backward compatibility settings?
In older versions of Windows there were settings that you could use to allow older programs to run. Does Windows 10 have any setting I can use. I just purchased a Windows 10 computer to replace my Windows 8.1 computer and the new computer will not run Corel Photo Paint 12. Since it ran just fine on Windows 7,8 and 8.1 I feel it should run on 10 but probabbly just needs a tweak. Alternately can windows 7 be run in a Windows 10 window?
