I had a work PC configured, then Microsoft forced an update
Hi, I would like to ask a Microsoft Manager, (any department will do), how would you feel after you find that your working PC is not working anymore, while you have a customer in front of you waiting to start a recording session he paid for. I have a DAW, configured with 3 monitor and one professional Dante audio interface. I run a recording studio. My work is to record musician sessions in a dynamic way, following and inspiring artists to focus on creativity and music, not on technology. Today I had to cancel the session, a band that arrived from abroad, because the last Windows update left my system in a non operative status. I am working hard to recover the technical situation, but I think I have lost a customer. They asked me: why you do not use MAC? I decided to use Windows because I was curious to see if the belief that Mac OS is better for professional recording studio was correct. I gave Microsoft credit. But, this is the third time I have this problem. It is not acceptable. I will update (should I say upgrade) the systems to Mac, but as a short term solution I have to reconfigure the DAW. Do you know what I have to do to reconfigure my system and how long it will take me? I will tell you. Read the following log. 1. AMD Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition - driver gone - I had to reinstall - 40 minutes 2. wrong resolution on display n.2 (LG ultrawide HDMI) - 10 min. 3. three desktop - on the display n. 1 I have icons of the previous n. 2 / on display 2 there is nothing / on disp. 3 a mess - 20 min. 4. The color management is gone! I had to run Spider5Express on 3 monitors to recalibrate the colour - 1 hour and 30 minutes 5. Audio: reconfiguration I will continue later... but... Gentleman, my feeling now is that my DAW is not really mine! Microsoft have the control on my belonging. I pay for something that I have to disconnect physically from Internet otherwise I can not avoid updates? This is unacceptable and ridiculous.

Perhaps a Good Ideas Thread 😀
With all the really good dialogue going on this plat form, the help, advice and valid questions posed, I have had another idea. I don't think it's a whacky one but you may have a different opinion 😉 Question (1) What features, according to your experience and 'needs' should Windows incorporate within the next 36 months? Question (2) What additional features could be developed within the 36 months development time that go beyond need to the realm of 'want'?

I would like to understand why this ...
I could not stand it, I had to come here to tell this to microsoft and for what you want to hear, why discontinue a system as good as windows 7 to put users in this system full of flaws called windows 10? , i use windows 10 i explored it completely and it's sad ... microsoft says that support ends up having too much time and if using windows 7 after support users will be exposed .... i'm sorry to say more this is not argument why i believe microsoft knows well that if one is looking right between a user with windows 7 after support and another using windows 10 with support the most exposed vulnerability is windows 10 so i want to tell all this to those are thinking about migrating to windows 10 or already have windows 7 and are feeling threatened by it, and what I say is: Do not abandon a system that flows perfectly to one that is worse than windows xp! Thanks for your attention, sorry if I offended anyone else I needed to state my opinion that this story of ending support should be Reanalyzed.

Making the Start Menu Full Screen
To make your Start Menu full-screen: 1. Right-click the Taskbar, click "Taskbar properties," and then click "Start." 2. Click to toggle "Use Start full screen" from "Off" to "On." If you click the Start button or press WINDOWS LOGO on your keyboard, the Start Menu will be in full screen like Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 had. If you're in Tablet Mode, the Start Menu will always be in full screen, and if you're not in Tablet Mode, the Start Menu won't be in full screen. To stop the Start Menu from using full-screen: 1. Right-click the Taskbar, click "Taskbar properties," and then click "Start." 2. Click to toggle "Use Start full screen" from "On" to "Off."

So hard to use the search function in File Explorer of 1909
Hi, I am a so old Windows user since Windows 3.2. I found it so hard to use the updated search function in File Explorer of 1909. 1. In 1903 and earlier, I click the search box, the search ribbon tool appear immediatelly, and I can modify the search options, like search by time/size and/or other properties. In 1909, the search ribbon tool does not come out immediatelly, I have to type something before the tools appear, and delete what I have typed to search all the files with just the modified option. It is not satisfied. 2. When I click the search box, the history list does not jump out smoothly. Sometimes it has no response, no input icon, I have to close the file explorer window, which is quite annoying. 3. The appear of address and search box are changed, they look taller than before, I perferde the slim design.

Xbox Gamebar crashing when creating a post.
Hello, I am having multiple issues with windows on this laptop which I never had before. One of those is that whenever I open Xbox Game Bar and try to post in 'Looking for group', the Game Bar just crashes. And it crashes several times even if I try to open it. I tried many ways, repairing and resetting the Game Bar from settings, uninstalling it using a command and re-installing it, which made it work for some time, but it started to crash after 1 to 2 restarts. I hope I can fix this.

What is Windows10X?
What exactly is Windows10X? Is it for PCs? Is it Windows 10's next update? I saw the leaked build video, and the animations and centred-task bar look so cool. If this isn't the next update of Windows 10, Then what is it? Is it a lighter version of Windows 10? If it is, hope y'all add the animations and quick access bar to the future updates of Windows. Thanks.

HELP..-files locked after updating windows7 to windows10
I recently updated my windows 7 to windows 10. Realised my google drive folder, in window.old (that has been carried in from windows 7) seem to be encrypted, it has a lock sign. I have tried decryption it by various methods available, nothing seems to work, (changed security attribute, changed ownership, tried command prompt decryption) however no luck :( . The folder was not synced with the cloud hence a lot of files in the folder were sitting on my local drive. Now I can't access them at all. I understand window.old folder will automatically delete after 30 days, and I have about 10 days left to get access to these otherwise all may be deleted. Any help to rescue these would be much appreciated. Note: 1- I had backed up this folder on my external hard drive, and have realised the same issue appearing on the external hd. 2- This particular folder is google drive folder, however it wasn't synced as the capacity was exceeded. I hope the issue is understandable, and I hope someone will have solution on this as I am completely exhausted trying to recover these work files.
