home network
I had a Home Network set up in Windows 10 under Homegroup. Subsequent updates eliminated Homegroup but my network continued to work. Then my main computer went West and I had to replace it. Now I can't get my network to connect the different computers on my network. I am not an expert on programming computers. I need detailed instructions on how to set up a new network. Why did you eliminate Homegroup?

Setting default action when connecting a USB drive
In my Windows 10 (latest update of Pro at home office), I am prompted each time I insert a USB flash memory drive about what to do. In the past, the selection dialog included a check box to set the selected action as default. There is none shown now. I can't find a way to set such an option.

Miss Control Panel? No Problem!
There are a lot of fans out there who still like using Control Panel but are having trouble finding it. No Problem. All you have to do is open your Start Menu and then Scroll down to Windows System. Open the box and then locate Control Panel. Now it you want to make a shortcut on your desktop all you have to do is the steps above then right click on Control Panel then click on more. You will then click on Go to file Location. Now Right Click on Control Panel then Click on Copy. Close the window then go to your desktop. Now Right Click on the desktop and paste your new Control Panel Shortcut. That's it!

Recovering from hard drive failure
Hello, Please NOTE: I have an extremely bad attitude when it comes to Microsoft and Windows. Therefore, I will refrain from offering my opinions and I would appreciate it if others would do the same. I recently had my boot SSD fail. I've installed a new one and installed Windows 10 on it. When I set up this computer initially, I only installed Windows 7 on my boot drive (it was later upgraded without my knowledge or permission to Windows 10). I installed all other applications on mechanical hard drives. I initially had Windows keeping a back up for my bootable drive. After a period of months the external 1 TB drive I was using to back up the 256 GB SSD was full. I looked at the files. It appeared that the backup initially created an image of the drive then added periodic small files for changes (once a day, once a week, I do not remember) and that a restore would require going through all files. I stopped using Windows backup. I have windows 10 installed on a new hard drive. I have three questions: 1) - Determined this isn't possible... 2) - How can I reinstall Microsoft Office 2010? Not sure if I can locate the original discs. 3) - How can I create and maintain an image of my boot drive so that when my boot drive dies, I can put in a new drive and restore that image? - I've read about using a RAID array but I'm not certain that would work for me because I'm not clear on whether replacement drives in a RAID have to be identical to those being replaced. This has happened to me twice since Windows 95. The first time I was able to access the boot drive and repair it though I haven't the faintest idea how or what I did at that time. I apologize if I did not keep my opinions to myself.

What is the best antivirus software out there?
I always wanted to ask this question since I honestly don't know enough about computers. I always wanted to know if I am wasting my money buying McAfee or is the windows updates enough? Is it harmful to have too many antivirus software on your computer. If one computer has it at home does it effect the others that are on the same network?

Cannot Completely Disable Password on Wakeup
I have tried every solution everywhere on the internet to make it so windows NEVER asks for my password, and although it is, in theory, NOT supposed to ask for my password anymore, ever, it still does in *one* circumstance. I have changed the settings so it is not to require a password after waking from sleep, and that works in every instance except for when the computer sleeps because I closed the laptop lid. If it goes to sleep just from sitting without being used for a while and I start it up again, it does not ask for a password, even if it’s been days or longer. But if I close the lid and then start it up again even just a moment later, it requires a password. I have stopped it from asking a password after starting from a shutdown or a restart, and I have turned it off after starting from sleep in all other cases, but for some reason, disabling password after wakeup does not work when sleep was because of closing the laptop lid. What am I doing wrong? I’ve tried all the different settings options I could find, then I googled and found another one or two, which fixed the last of my problems, except this one. I do not want to EVER have to enter a password. All I use my Windows laptop for is games that I can’t get on my Mac, because I hate windows, but there are some games I really like that require it. I grew up using Windows, so I’m very familiar with it, and I can generally fix anything with it that crops up without needing to go to anyone for help, but this is one thing I just can’t fix. On Mac, you only have to change one or two things to never have to enter a password again except for major updates or downloads, and all the settings are easy to find. On windows, I have had to change many more things, and I’ve really had to dig for the settings to change, and I am STILL having issues. Can someone PLEASE tell me what I’m missing?

Accindentally fortmatting drive (D) on Create Storage Pool
2 days ago, I was tyring to free up storage on my local disk (c) but after latest windows update (end of april), I think some option was changed. The one option that I used is gone. Long story short, I found an option that I think is the new one, "Manage Storage Spaces", I thought they rename it. Without hesitation, I opened it. The interface was different, Windows show up an option: "Create a new pool and storage space" I clicked it, the it asked permission, I clicked YES then it showed up: "FORMATTED DRIVES and bla bla bla choose your drive: " I clicked my SATA DRIVE (D), without hesitation I clicked, "Create a Pool" then my DATA (D) was gone, the file and even DATA (D) Folder. Is there any way to recover it ?
