Stolen tablet - now what
My Surface was stolen yesterday. I logged into Microsoft account and I can see the last location. The thief did not connect it to the internet after stealing it. And as they did not take the charger, it might take a while before they get their hands on a charger and power it on. Now, in the Microsoft account, you have to first Locate and only afterwards you can do the Lock option. This translated to: you have to spend the next days with your eyes glued on the Microsoft Account browser window, hitting refresh continuously, hoping in the 100 hours you will be monitoring non stop this window you will notice the 1-2 minutes your tablet will go online and you get to push the Find button and then the Lock button. I am thus wondering: how could a Microsoft engineer think of such a logic of a security system ? Why even bother to implement such an abomination of a 'security' feature !?

Advanced Gpu Scheduling isn't avalible on DCH intel
Why does this matter? Because I want my Surface Pro 7 to have increased performance on multiple tasks. I know this might sound akward, but one of the most important features of windows 10 2004 in my opinion, is Advanced Gpu Scheduling. But regardless, intel still hasn't given a update for Advanced Gpu Scheduling, and it's really annoying how we have to wait for this feature to come, yet nvidia has it and it's great. Espically on the first generation ryzen, where it can become a hassle when multitasking to a extreme.(Multiple videos out, spotify, other things out, and perhaps a game in the background.) (There are a few issues with it though, sometimes it can causes some freezes temporarily.)(Also using a RTX2060 Super, with a ryzen 1600cpu, M.2. SSD OS drive.) I'm just wondering how many people want this to come asap, espically on intel graphics.(I think it would help signifcantly and offload the reliance on intel turboboost.) https://www.windowslatest.com/2020/07/07/windows-10-hardware-accelerated-gpu-scheduling-explained/

Sites & Pages to Apps 👍👍👏
Edge can turn pretty much ANY & ALL web sites & pages into apps. I am composing this now in the forum AS AN APP. And Edge is adding more & more nice 'controls' for making & handling apps. IF anyone needs to know HOW to do this, don't hesitate to ask. But, I wanted to address WHY to do this. 1. Having & opening things as apps, obviously, means not using Edge for that same thing (anymore). Thus, it becomes its 'pure'self... none of the peripherals of a web page. 2. Fewer open tabs tugging on system /browser resources. 3. Can be pinned & treated just like any other app. 4. Not dependent on opening or using the browser for everything. Great for Twitter, Spotify or anything used a lot that no longer needs the browser to access it. Can toss apps all over the place better than Edge windows. > ⋯ > Apps, expand it > Manage Apps. AND anything converted to an app will, of course, be in your Applications window (and on the silly Start menu 😉) It is a big deal, a very worthwhile thing having this ability. Cheers, Drew

Unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware, 0xc1900201
When I try to install the W10 version 2004 feature update I get the following error: Windows cannot be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware. 0xc1900201 I have a 2018 Dell XPS 15 9570 laptop.32GB, 1.0TB SSD, most current BIOS update from Dell that shows UEFI as the BIOS mode. Microsoft is telling me I have to do a full scratch install of the current shipping version of W10 and then install the 2004 feature update, thus, I have to do a full backup and restore, then reinstall all of the apps. Is this actually necessary? I'm hoping there's another way to do this. I've worked for software companies in the past and often times Tech Support resorts to a full remiage of the cmputer in order to fix a problem. Are they just lazy or for real? Your help is greatly appreciated.

WATCHING ME
HAS THIS EVER COME ACROSS ANYONES MIND? Well it mine. i had this feeling i was being watched. i spent days and hours searching my coMPUTER. I DID FIND WAYS TO see what family member or live in is doing. there are apps that can be downloaded that can watch every move you make without being in family group, for instance ever see your window page change maybe a different picture,or a picture you have chosen of personal or from micro store? well behind is a peculiar thing... hidden try hiding all icons on your window screen. i did and found a small icon of an app i downloaded. what is this doing here? also being redirected from your search engine.? i am microsoft .. in my history said it was amazon.. so i deleted amazon. my search engines are really not my search engines.. This is an act from live ins that think it's funny .. i say sneaky. they say i am administrator and yes my title says so but I am not .i cant even get security on my outlook email,, when i click it it says you can not get this for any of your emails!!! what! I try to get answers but you all know what happens... ok try looking deeper into your computers wether individual employee owner or student ,,,,k? .Also try this double click anything at the bottom will say inspect well inspect it.

Security is, ALSO, a personal issue.
Security is not only a concern for Enterprise (business environments). So, while I have a break between sessions at iTech today... Whether for your personal data or in case of a hardware failure or an OS issue, security is your issue, ALSO, not just a business problem. 1. Have separate System (OS) and Data drives. 2. Additionally, save data on an external drive. 3. Put a system image & daily backup to an external drive. 4. Additionally, redundantly, put everything in OneDrive. Do not just keep everything on-prem❗ Now, you are safe even if, devices fail, natural disasters, fires or explosions, no matter what. Redundancy & Cloud use will always save the day & your butt. And thusly data & system recovery are, actually, possible. Cheers, Drew

How can I make it stop starting on start up It's driving me crazy lol I don't even use it

Home Network Issues
My home network, Wi-Fi based, lacks stability in that it often fails to present in File Explorer networked PCs I intend to access. When this happens, I have to leave the computer I am using to go to the target PC to perform what's needed. It's really a problem of inconsistency ("now you see me, now you don't"). Each PC is setup on the network by simply entering the password for AT&T gateway/modem, without creating any kind of homegroup or workgroup, etc., etc. Where am I going wrong? Is there a tried and true home network setup method that I can use to avoid this annoyance? Any help this community can provide would be greatly appreciated. By way of background, let me say this: System: Windows 10 Home, 64-bit Connectivity: Wi-Fi Number of Pcs: 6 Thanks. ca le
