How old is too old?
I am a substitute teacher who is preparing for the new school year. Because of the COVID -19 virus, a good number of the classes I will work with will be virtual, using assorted teleconferencing programs. I currently have a 6 year old Acer Aspire E11 laptop. Question for the community, how old does a computer have to be to be too old to use for more current applications like teleconferencing, etc.? Are there clear symptoms that my computer is too old for productive use, aside from being a little slow at startup? I Look forward to the responses. Thanks.
Restarting Modem and Wireless Router
We recently moved and have a new internet service provider. About once a month I loose internet access and have to shut down my PC, modem and wireless router, then restart and I come back on line. Is this normal? I know from past exerperience would have to do it maybe once a year. Just asking.

Despite any/all attempts, it stays inme programs list. any time i try to download, it tells me it "virus scan failed' and i am thus, unable to download the program.

Laptop WIFI connection
Hi Sir, I am seeking solution for WIFI connection. I would like to check why my laptop(HP Pavilion Series) downloading speed is very low? Normally it could have 1MB++, but it is less than 100KB recently. But it is normal to my Iphone or Ipad. Please help.. Regards JK
On-line Shopping ๐
Whilst we have all been on lockdown (except for front-line workers bless them๐) have your online shopping transactions significantly increased, remained the same or even decreased? I have been an online shopper for several years which I find so convenient and cost-effective. Since lockdown though, I have used the 'Amazon' platform more than I had originally anticipated even taking into consideration the difficulties of lockdown. Here in the UK during the first few weeks of the pandemic, supermarkets experienced panic buying by many, many customers resulting in stripped shelves and getting a delivery slot was very difficult ๐ค๐ฎ. Thankfully supermarket shopping delivery slots are much easier to book. But I had to resort to doing more virtual food shopping and found a source form a pub in a near-by village. ๐ฅ๐๐ฅฌ๐ฅฆ๐ฅ Restrictions in England are being lifted slowly and non-essential retail shops will be permitted to re-open on June 15th. I have to wonder though, whether shoppers in general will return to the High Street/Main Street in the numbers prior to the pandemic. The retail sector has suffered significant losses and several large department stores have gone into administration. Do you think that the pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we will shop in a post-pandemic world? For myself, I think it has. I find on-line shopping so very convenient - even buying printer cartridges and other desk essentials was easier than trooping to the retail park. I think MS/Windows/Skype et al had made my daily life much easier - thank you to all the teams. Now I can shop around the world, hold virtual meetings, keep in contact with friends and come to this platform any time of the day/evening. So cool ๐ Many thanks to all MS teams. Views? Keeping current day streak alive
I log onto Bing every day and complete all my daily chores, yet for the past 6 months, it seems that I get advised that I have broken my consecutive day streak, despite getting on Bing every day, and doing all the tasks every day. Has anyone else in the community experienced this, and how do you address it?
Where to learn?
I wasn't brought up with computers; I'm 66, but want to learn how to do more. In particular, I want to learn how to track the sources of scammers and spammers. I haven't fallen for any of the scams I've received, but want to be able to have papers served on the scammers, or have the police haul them off. What book(s) should I look for, or where can I find free or low cost instruction?
