Looking for a AMD Ryzen Based Laptop with Windows 10 Pro
I have been using my ThinkPad T450 with i5 since 2013 and it has aged quite well. It still functions fine with RAM upgrade and HDD swapped with SSD. But, I think I need more powerful laptop now. I researched about laptops last weekend and I found that many people think that AMD machine is better than Intel based ones right now because its more efficient bla bla. I have a tower pc at home with AMD CPU inside it and have never faced a problem with it. I mostly use it to play Xbox Game Pass titles. It performs quite well with it. With all that being said, I am leaning more towards an AMD based laptop right now. Don't want to spend more than $1000 for it. Windows 10 Pro is must for me. I have looked at some of the the new ThinkPad models mentioned by this site - https://laptopunderbudget.com/best-amd-ryzen-laptops/ Since, I already own a T line ThinkPad I think the experience with T15 would be more similar than E15. I really don't know how they are different though. Not sold for ThinkPads completely, would love to explore other brands. Thanks.
I can't update my computer
I keep getting: "2020-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4551762) - Error 0x80070002", when updating. I have retried a dozen times, and get the same thing. I have deleted all the content of the Download folder in the software distribution folder in Windows, but this does not help. The Troubleshooter does not find anything wrong. Does anyone know how I can fix this, or do I need to reset Windows?
Older PC games
I haven't been able to play C & C Generals since I switched to Windows 10 about 3 years ago. It loads from the CD just fine but when I click on the .exe file to start a game nothing happens. From what I've read on the internet there is some type of compatibility issue with Windows 10. I have tried at least a half dozen workarounds but nothing ever works. Very frustrating. Probably an easy fix for the Windows 10 programmers.
How to fix corrupted windows 7 professional x64 no DVD
I am aware it is out of support. But I can't even press control alt delete without an error message. I need help. My operating system on windows 7 laptop is so corrupted the security menu won't launch and the control panel won't work. I had to force shut down with the power button. Any fix? I don't have installation media for the 64-bit version only x32. Also my profile picture is not an Airbus A300-600R it is a McDonnell Douglas MD-11

Windows 10 update failure (to version 1909)
My Dell laptop has version 1809 and it keeps attempting to update to version 1909. It has failed over and over and over again. In the past, I have received this error code: 0xc1900101. Today I received this message: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070057)" I have searched for a solution here, but they all seem very complicated. Can anyone refer me to something simple that will fix this? (I don't understand why Microsoft is sending updates that do not work).

See what the college you are going to requires you to get. Some unfortunately will ask you to buy a Macbook. In which case just get a macbook, nothing much you can do there. If not then see what software you are required to use? If you need to use something like Adobe Creative suite then you will need a powerful laptop with a modern CPU and optionally a dedicated graphics card. CPU is more important though. You will need at least 8โ12 Gb of Ram. Never go below 8Gb. A high resolution screen is also important. At least 1080p with good color. Finally you need to pick your poison (OS). On a non macbook laptop you have 3 good choices. Windows 7, Windows 10, or Linux. Which one depends on the software you will be using. If you are using something dependent on Windows then you should probably get windows 10 or windows 7. Windows 10 has all the latest features and updates. Windows 7 is solid and relatively more lightweight. If however you are not using software dependant on windows then you might consider installing Linux. Ubuntu Studio is a linux distribution tailored to digital artists. It comes preinstalled with a full arsenal of useful tools for Graphics design, photography, video editing, compositing, animation, Digital music production, and Publishing. Itโs very modern and fast and itโs 100% free and open source. You can test it out without installing if you want. If you donโt need to use windows you can save money using linux.
