Security is, ALSO, a personal issue.
Security is not only a concern for Enterprise (business environments). So, while I have a break between sessions at iTech today... Whether for your personal data or in case of a hardware failure or an OS issue, security is your issue, ALSO, not just a business problem. 1. Have separate System (OS) and Data drives. 2. Additionally, save data on an external drive. 3. Put a system image & daily backup to an external drive. 4. Additionally, redundantly, put everything in OneDrive. Do not just keep everything on-premโ Now, you are safe even if, devices fail, natural disasters, fires or explosions, no matter what. Redundancy & Cloud use will always save the day & your butt. And thusly data & system recovery are, actually, possible. Cheers, Drew

Microsoft's new competition from Google "Stack"
This one I must ad is rather formidable too. Google's Area 120 has released an app called Stack. https://www.androidcentral.com/google-area-120-develops-stack-document-scanner For those that have not read about it, it is a mobile scanner app much like Microsoft Office Lens. Being the curious type that I am, I had to try it out. Here is what I found. This is going to make Microsoft sit up and take notice! plain and simple. Why? Mainly because of the AI features that they have built in, but also the "Stacks" are easier to access, than are Microsoft's, upload locations. Also you really don't need to center the device on the object to be scanned, just over it. You'll just have to try that one. But let's talk about the AI. What got my attention there, was when I scanned an item, which happened to be a bill, when it was ready to save to their "Stack", it showed me the name of the Payee. Where as with Office Lens I would need to edit their random file name to reflect the payee name. Maybe not a big deal, but certainly noteworthy. for those like myself that use Office Lens fairly frequently. Those are the 3 up sides. The down sides are, it's still in Beta, I felt that the UI was clunky, and although it says you can save the scan to somewhere other than Google Drive, I didn't find anywhere to change that. I saw where to turn it off, but not where to change. it. Bottom line from a lay person: Google Stack can when polished give Microsoft Office Lens a run for it' money, But Office Lens is tried and true and just keeps getting better and better. I'm staying with it

Perhaps a Good Ideas Thread ๐
With all the really good dialogue going on this plat form, the help, advice and valid questions posed, I have had another idea. I don't think it's a whacky one but you may have a different opinion ๐ Question (1) What features, according to your experience and 'needs' should Windows incorporate within the next 36 months? Question (2) What additional features could be developed within the 36 months development time that go beyond need to the realm of 'want'?

Multi-Monitors - Easily choose picture for each display
Right-Click the Desktop, choose Personalize, and you can choose to use a picture as your background. Pretty straight forward, right? Now let's say you connect up a 2nd monitor and you want to have a different picture on each monitor. So you repeat the steps you did the last time, but now choosing a 2nd picture to use, and then BOOM! That 2nd picture is now on both monitors. What happened to the first picture you selected? You can see it listed among the other pictures between the "Choose your picture" and "Browse". You click on it and both monitors show only the one picture. In order to choose one of those pictures to be displayed on a certain monitor, you must Right-Click and choose "Set for monitor #" and then do the same for the 2nd picture for the 2nd monitor. Okay, sounds simple enough, right? Well, now imagine you have 4 monitors and you want a different picture for each monitor. So you go through the steps to Browse for the 4 pictures, one at a time, so that it adds them to the choice of pictures. Then you Right-click each picture and choose "Set for monitor 1", then "Set for monitor 2" and so on, until you finally have your 4 different pictures displayed on the 4 different monitors just the way you like. It took some work, but it looks great, right? Well now imagine you change your mind about 1 or 2 or even all 4 pictures. Every time you go through the steps to browse for a new picture for your background, it applies that new picture to ALL of your monitors, so then you must right-click each picture in the Background Settings windows, and select which monitor you want it displayed on. Also, the Background Settings window only displays your most recent 5 photos, so if you had your favorite 4 or 5 pictures already displayed, and then you browse for another one and didn't like it, well it's bumped one of the others off the list. So now you have to browse to find it again, and add it back to the list so that you can once more go and "Set for monitor #"

Home Network Issues
My home network, Wi-Fi based, lacks stability in that it often fails to present in File Explorer networked PCs I intend to access. When this happens, I have to leave the computer I am using to go to the target PC to perform what's needed. It's really a problem of inconsistency ("now you see me, now you don't"). Each PC is setup on the network by simply entering the password for AT&T gateway/modem, without creating any kind of homegroup or workgroup, etc., etc. Where am I going wrong? Is there a tried and true home network setup method that I can use to avoid this annoyance? Any help this community can provide would be greatly appreciated. By way of background, let me say this: System: Windows 10 Home, 64-bit Connectivity: Wi-Fi Number of Pcs: 6 Thanks. ca le

MS Edge Version 90.0.818.42 Official Build "Question-?"
Hello Everyone, I have a question about the new Version of MS Edge 90.0.818.42 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on my Windows 10 Home Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.928) with all current updates applied. The thing is, in Edge Under Settings/Profile/Personal Info, there is a list of Autofill information that Edge uses to speed up filling out forms on the net. I have turned this feature OFF (Just Now) the "Save and fill personal info" and it no longer suggests the information there. However! How do I "Delete" the information still visible there under this setting???... I have tried "Resetting Edge" and almost everything I could think of to try. With NO luck. What am I missing?... I know it's probably something very simple that I'm just not seeing๐ Thank-You For Any Help You Can Offer ______________________________________________________________ I Found It! ๐ฒ If you have this same problem go to : 1-Clear browsing data 2-Choose what to clear 3-Autofill form data (Includes Form and cards) That's it ๐ Enjoy!
