Widows Update 2004 Problems 3 months OEM support+ no help
Problems with updating my Yoga C940-14IIL (Lenovo) from 1909 to 2004. Officially Lenovo premium support claims there should be no problems on there end for my device. Not driver related software etc. But i'm still stuck on the not device not ready screen. I Also tried to force the update like they instructed. Without being rude in my opinion there premium support is tier 1.5 at best. The conversation basically is them approving my suggestions or providing ridiculous extra information to them. Basically telling me which button i should click or explaining something in English i provided them by sending a screenshot etc. For example i ran the Intel driver support assistent and pointed out Intel has newer graphic wifi and Bluetooth drivers than the ones they provided. Asking if that might solve the issue but i pointed out Intel recommends OEM drivers not generic ones (It's in the screenshot). They replied its worth trying and that the lines i pointed out mean they are not officially tested. I'm thinking this is a bad joke or something i pointed it out and informed them and they reply with "might work and explain te words in a sentence i provided them" This is just one example out of dozens. Half of the suggestions or questions i made mentioned on the 2004 Official known issues/problems page (provided screenshots) they didn't understand i think. I attached the screenshot and even underlined the sentences i send them. Basically they told me to do the windows clean start or start over thing by holding a reset button (whatever it's called) . It's a brand new device with almost no software except for a single licensed office 2019 professional plus (not linked to a account) and mapped in my fairly complex new "secure"network and has things like SMB shares configured with my Linux and FreeBSD servers etc. It's also a wifi only device so it's on my IOT Vlan so it's a pain in the ... to setup again. Advice or answers would be appreciated before i do a clean install.

What's the future of Win32 and UWP?
For those who aren't familiar, Win32 applications are your traditional desktop programs. They are typically installed via a downloaded installer, can be run directly from their exe files and are located in the Program Files folder of every Windows computer. UWPs, on the other hand, are essentially glorified mobile apps as part of Microsoft's last-ditch effort to gain developer support for Windows Phone. They can only be distributed via the Windows Store, designed from the ground up to be mouse-unfriendly, and use a completely different application architecture than traditional programs. UWPs cannot be launched directly from their exe files; their program files are hidden away in special directories that regular users are not allowed to access. The idea behind UWP was to create an application that could be programmed once and run on all Windows devices, both phone and desktop. This way, it would be easier to create software for Windows Phone, thus incentivizing developers to write more mobile apps. However, with the demise of Windows Phone and the failure of Windows 8, it doesn't seem that UWPs need to exist anymore. Yet, despite this, Microsoft is throwing more and more resources into UWP. They've converted all of their first party-software to the UWP platform, made it the only kind of software that can run on Windows VR/AR/MR headsets, and stopped adding new features to Win32 entirely. Where is Microsoft going with this? Does Microsoft plan to eventually deprecate Win32? Microsoft hasn't made their goals or intentions very clear, and it's causing no small amount of concern in the developer community. The fact that they have no public plans to deprecate Win32 at the moment is little comfort- everything Microsoft has done so far has indicated otherwise.

Regarding Conversation Categories: Accessibility
Accessibility is, where? .. When creating a conversation, the community member is asked to select a category for the conversation. Specifically: "Choose a category below *Entertainment- Use Windows for fun activities and playing games on your devices *Productivity- Learn how to use Windows to be more productive *Creativity- Explore creative tools and applications *Security & Privacy- Get tips for keeping data safe and private on your device *Windows Updates- Discover what's changing and why *Behind the Scenes- Meet Windows creators and see the stories behind the features *Other" .. Accessibility is the critical issue for all different persons with disabilities and challenges. Some questions and issues may be directly related to a single Entertainment product or particular to an aspect of Productivity with Windows. However, there are broader aspects of Accessibility that are important and critical to those impacted. And somehow, "Other", just doesn't seem to belay a recognition of import. .. Recommend making a category of "Accessibility"; to recognize the importance of having the conversation, and the broader overarching impact to those in the community with differences and disabilities. .. looking for the hardware troubleshooter in Win. 10?
hi all: Some people have wondered as to where the hardware troubleshooter is in Windows 10. Microsoft took it out starting from 1809, because it has the lowest usage. One website I found stated that it is not gone, but rather, it is hidden. To use it, please type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic via cmd (administer privilege). The hardware troubleshooter will appear. Hope this help.

OneDrive and Photos What!
After I reinstalled Windows 10, I opened OneDrive and started getting things back in order. I noticed several images were gone, but it was time to replace them anyway. Naturally I opened up File Explorer, and that is when panic set in. What I noticed was that the folder known in OneDrive, called SkyDrive Camera Roll, was no longer there. Panic started to set in, but luckily I have every thing backed up on an external hard drive so we didn't have to get out the portable defibrillator, just yet. I started back into OneDrive in both accounts, as they are linked together, as well as File Explorer and noticed that there was now a folder call simply named Camera Roll. Ok, now that I know, I can live with that, but what puzzles me now is that on my Android phone and Fire tablet OneDrive still shows SkyDrive Camera Roll. Do I dare uninstall on those devices and reinstall, or let alone?
