Where can I learn more about the Event Log?
I have figured out the basics in Event Log, but I want to be good at it. Where can I find what the error codes mean? And, how to fix them? The link you always get to help you just take me too a search page. Most of the times I dont even know what to search for. This is probably a lot of information for your engineers, for me it just makes me feel like an idiot: Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost_10.0.18999.1_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy SID (S-1-15-2-155514346-2573954481-755741238-1654018636-1233331829-3075935687-2861478708). This security permission can be changed with the Component Services administrative tool. Component service I get, but it doesn't help me very much when I don't have the slightest idea of what to change. It would be so much easier to provide relevant and good reports in Feedback Hub if I could find a way to learn more. Sincerely LokePus

Blue/Green Screens π€ Part Two
Is there any way, I can apply a sound to a blue/green screen to alert me that of the situation. This would be so helpful to the visually impaired person. I have applied sound when I receive a notification - that is very useful. But I think error screens such blue/green warrants something special - like a sound of crashing musical symbols π π. Something that would immediately grab my attention. On December 28 2019, I experienced a serious interruption of my computer system when Windows was downloading an update. My computer ceased to work and I was unaware of the problem. Being unable to see the screen I inadvertently clicked on an error message which necessitated my having to contact Microsoft that day. I was so fortunate that the engineer on the other end of my link was helpful and very sensitive to my situation. π I ask fellow contributors to take my posting as a serious request for help. The green screen oopsie the other day, heightened my concern. Many thanks and keep well.

The great dilemma.
Over many years, starting with DOS, I have seen operating systems come and go. When they do, forums like this always throw up the views of lovers and haters. Unbalanced views are the main reason I stay away from social media in general, because I try to look past my own narrow view of what is best. The world turns, not about me, but about every user and their diverse needs. In my world, computers do something useful like engineering calculation or photo manipulation. Things I couldn't do realistically or creatively without one. In the days of DOS, a computer did amazing things for me. I wrote software that designed and plotted timber frame homes. Something way ahead of what most companies at the time had to work with. Windows arrived on the scene and was more trouble than it was worth, to me, being hampered by a graphical interface that served no practical purpose. The mouse was the most useful advance of the time, back then. We all hate change when we have to face learning a different way of doing something that we did perfectly well before. As I saw it, newer versions of windows added many different ways of doing the same thing. Another unnecessary distraction because those changes bloated the interface making it harder to work quickly. I could still revert to DOS, (no I couldn't, actually) or an earlier OS like my favourite Win 7. Why don't I, probably for the same reason as those who have progressed to Win 10, latest update version. We hope we will discover something new and exciting in it. Sadly, we don't make that discovery, but we do still upgrade and chase that foolish illusion. I can't help myself and I doubt anyone else can, either. What I also see in these advancements is the challenge Microsoft (and Apple) have. How to invent a new wheel, one that looks better than the old round one and does all the things their own advertising agents think customers desperately want. The customer, like me, seems to be the problem. Stop using what we don't need.

How to add buttons to Feedback hub app?
How to add buttons (previous and next, and better yet also numbers) to feedback hub app? All feedbacks do not fit in the application window! Only 50 reviews are visible in the "all feedback" window. Many other feedbacks are hidden and not visible. Why only 50 reviews are visible in the "all feedback" window? Maybe 250 is better? or 500, 1000 feedback let displayed! But itβs better to add navigation buttons. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/functionality-in-the-feedback-hub-app/7432bc99-d498-4e79-a7e6-210ab0811dee

So hard to use the search function in File Explorer of 1909
Hi, I am a so old Windows user since Windows 3.2. I found it so hard to use the updated search function in File Explorer of 1909. 1. In 1903 and earlier, I click the search box, the search ribbon tool appear immediatelly, and I can modify the search options, like search by time/size and/or other properties. In 1909, the search ribbon tool does not come out immediatelly, I have to type something before the tools appear, and delete what I have typed to search all the files with just the modified option. It is not satisfied. 2. When I click the search box, the history list does not jump out smoothly. Sometimes it has no response, no input icon, I have to close the file explorer window, which is quite annoying. 3. The appear of address and search box are changed, they look taller than before, I perferde the slim design.

How do I disable dumb overtype PERMANENTLY? OneNote Web
This feature is very annoying. I cannot seem to identify when and how it gets triggered. A bit of searching reveals that "Insert" or "INS" should toggle the setting for overtype but this it is not working at all for web version of OneNote. I am forced to reload the OneNote tab and then finish writing/ editing the sentence in normal mode but then again It comes back when moving to next line or bullet. As per my research if it is enabled it should be enabled throughout regardless of application but as I am writing this very post in normal mode in another tab within the same chrome windows. the very next OneNote tab is suffering from useless feature called overtype. How is this possible. Or have I gone insane. Please help I may be PEBCAC
