Restart/Reboot is needed. ✔ KB5003214: May "C" Optional Update This will be the first Windows Update of v21H1 since the release. I will apply the May "C" Update later today.
What the hell is going on with my pc????
My situation seems simple, I cannot move files i have downloaded to any of my C drive folders but I'm able to send them to an exterior drive which will not allow me to transfer them back. I have read and attempted many of the troubleshooting solutions, I even executed the fresh start and I am at my wits end. I can only wonder if the reason is that my C drive is the only protected drive. Can anyone please help?
Advice on buying a new DeskTop COMPUTER
I need a new computer and I hav no idea what to get? I want to be productive. Usie it for work and school but also not have it be slow and cumbersome? I don't game but i would like to watch 3/D or A/R or A/I ? Something that would take away stress and reward myself after a hard day. Like swimming with whales or playing a game ? Do i just by Oculus or something like that and use it with a smart T/V ? Or do i use it with a computer? i have no idea and im 60 YOA? I am smart just not savy? Microsoft You're Confusing me Again!
It's a well know fact that Microsoft has pulled way back from the consumer market to primarily focus on Enterprise. That's ok, for us consumers will benefit with this move, and already have with the change from Office 365 to Microsoft 365. What's got me confused now though is all of this talk about Microsoft wanting to first buy ByeDance's, Tik Tok venture into the U.S., and now there is talk that Microsoft is looking at buying the global works? Huh? My first question would be why. Given that Microsoft has no real track record in this type of media that I can discern it doesn't make any sense, at least not to me. Sure they (Microsoft) own Yammer and Linked In, but those are in a whole different league. Second reason it doesn't make sense, is that the recent realignment of Microsoft confirmed once again the direction they are continuing on even stronger in the enterprise arena. I see Microsoft doing this in part because they recognize the threat that Google is making with the Sheets, Docs and Slides, Chrome Book, etc. Those have come a long way over the years, and they (Google) are really trying to play catchup to Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services, Heck Microsoft is trying to catch up to Amazon as well.... Maybe it is just MY perception, but to me this appears to be intended as a tech/help forum rather than a soap-box forum. Maybe just my take on it, that the idea is to share info & hopefully offer some valuable response to computer questions, curiosities, interests or problems. Although, If I maybe DO have it viewed correctly, its focus & purpose sounds like a productive way to use the space. To me, it doesn't seem like a place to editorialise, vent or rant, but a place for appreciated input from which one can learn & grow as tech & computing evolve. Cheers, Drew
Control Windows without Touching Mouse and Keyboard!
Did you know you could command Windows with voice without touching keyboard and mouse? There is feature called "Windows Speech Recognition" , just open start or Cortana and look for it. Then you could command many things including moving mouse. Can I install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10?
Yes. You need to make sure that your current PC's hardware that works with Windows 10 is compatible with Ubuntu. Also, you need enough disk space on your hard drive. Installing Ubuntu alongside Windows 10 depends on your current UEFI start-up and Secure Boot settings, which can be found in your BIOS/UEFI firmware setup. Before you install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10: - Disable the fast start-up option, which can be found in Control Panel's Power Options. - Only hibernate your PC if you still plan to use Windows 10 for compatible apps and want to use Ubuntu for something else occasionally. - Turn off BitLocker. BitLocker can be found in Control Panel. Once you've confirmed the information above, boot your computer to your Ubuntu installation media. Then, follow the instructions until you get to a screen where you can choose to install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10 or configure additional partitions. To keep Windows 10 intact, choose to install Ubuntu alongside Windows 10. After you've installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 10, you will get a GRUB boot loader, where you can switch between Ubuntu and Windows 10 every time that you start your computer. NOTE: If you're using a computer that uses UEFI, you will see "Windows Boot Manager" when you see the GRUB boot loader. Selecting it starts Windows 10. This is by design.
