Giving everyone Office 365 for 6 months is amazing!
Thank you Microsoft! Due to the ongoing Corona crisis MS give away 365 When I saw the headline I thought it was an offer for new subscribers. We are more or less under a lock down for at least the next 2 weeks. Most likely it will be for a longer period. a gesture like this lifts my spirit. Again, thank you Loke Aa Norway https://www.thurrott.com/microsoft/231376/microsoft-teams-giving-away-paid-features-for-six-months-due-to-coronavirus
"The device is currently in use"
I try to safely eject my USB device and get the message "The device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again." I get this message 99% of the time - even when no applications or windows are open. Why is this happening? Is there a way to get around this? I never get this message at work or school, unless the USB device is actually in use. I do log in as a standard, non-administrator user. I only elevate to administrator privileges when necessary like installing applications (I also only temporarily elevate privileges; I never log on as an administrator). So when I get the "The device is currently is use." message, I right-click on start button and click Disk Management. I know that I can safely remove the device by going into Disk Management and taking the device offline. However, I cannot elevate to administrator privileges to get into Disk Management. I get the following message: "You are logged on as a standard user. You can view device settings in Device Manager, but you must be logged on as an administrator to make changes." I don't want to log on as an administrator, but I do want to temporarily elevate to administrator privileges to take the device offline. Is there a way to do this? When I'm logged on as standard user and want to install an application, I get prompted for an administrator password. I want the same thing to happen when I go to Device Manager and other areas that require administrator rights.
Stop releasing updates that don't do anything meaningful.
No one cares about new personalization features or what colour theme you're using so stop releasing updates that have no purpose. Or at least stop making them "mandatory" or combining mandatory updates with them. If I cared about how my desktop looked, I'd buy a Mac. I own a PC because wasting system resources on cosmetic BS is stupid to me... looks like I may not be using the right operating system even still. I need the security updates for your swiss cheese operating system but I don't want to have to sit and stare at a swirling circle icon while my computer picks which colour to theme my PC to today. Talk about being out of touch with your client base.
Intel Corporation - Display - 184.108.40.20654 Issues
After updating to version 220.127.116.1154 of Intel Corporation - Display driver via the automatically update / drivers, my PC starts behaving too strange specifically for the web browsers like Chrome, Firefox etc. Tabs starts open to slowly, the scroll freezes, also the mouse, the content in the new tabs loading too slow, etc. Once I restored the video driver to the version 18.104.22.16842, downloaded from the official site of DELL, those issues weren't appear any more. It seem that this version is too buggy and it is automatically downloaded and installed if I try to check manually for updates. Yep this is probably because of my policy settings, but please fix the problem for that driver's version. OS - Windows 10 Pro, 20H2 Thanks and be healthy!
